Don't you think it would be a better plan, to hit a nuclear reactor in the mainland? Don't you think that hitting a submarine, which is again, a pretty small target, would be rather difficult? How the heck are they going to get an AIRLINER? Don't you think that if Drudge is talking about this on the radio, that the significant authorities have already been alerted? (Anyone out there at Pearl Harbor right now? Are they on alert?) Don't you think that all of these scenarios, that turn out to be nothing, are just psychological operations? We pick up KS Mohammed, then, next thing you know, al Qaeda says, "WELL, YEAH! WELL, UM, WE'LL ATTACK PEARL HARBOR, DUDE!"... kind of like the impotent bully on the playground who has just been knocked down?

I just talked to my son who is stationed in Hawaii, and they have heard nothing about being on alert. Of course, this would serve him right as he is suffering from the 'worst hangover' he's ever had. After I found out he was ok, I read him the riot act over drinking so much. Hmmm... what can you tell a 22 year old single guy?

That analysis may be correct (regarding national and state security teams already responding to the issue).
On the other hand, the threat is real. Pearl is in a vulnerable position and has lots of civilian air traffic.
On the other hand, the discussion regarding the vulnerability of "submarines" seems a bit ridiculous.
You can order the subs out for exercises. Presuming that they can stay away from Japanese fishing trawlers, our guys should be just fine.
Nuclear reactors in California/Washington are a security issue. SONUS is located just north of Camp Pendleton. Presuming that the USMC commander at Pendleton is true to his word, he has said that any terrorist getting close to the power station is going to see a missile flying between his eyes before he can hit SONUS.
I think SONUS is secure. Civilian planes might not be.
