This is a perfect example of why each FReep needs to have one or two designated media spokepersons and to have the message (sound bites and qoutes) prepared in advance, not to mention a press kit to hand out. Reporters need to be funneled to these spokespersons and in the event a reporter does corner someone who get's blinded by the bright lights, all should know the contents of the sound bites so there is a chance the message stays consistent and one person doesn't make the whole group look like foolish, as the left press will certainly try to do.

This was a wasted opportunity to get a conservative message or counter message out to tens of thousands.

I just read an article here on the board about the massacres at Halabja. It was heart wrenching, primarily because it was written without emotion. Just a long cataloguing of stories by the people who managed to survive about the day it happened. I don't think the American people realize what what a chemical attack would do. They should all read this.

Two days ago, I read about the Marsh Arabs and how Saddam destroyed the beautiful marshlands of Iraq to punish the people. It told of their lives and how they have been altered since the draining of the Marshlands. A lifestyle that has existed for thousands of years, wiped out by one vengeful man.

These peace marchers are uninformed fools who are performing the part of the communists "useful idiots". They totally sicken me.

These are the same anti-American untermenschen that riot against "Globalization".

If they can get worked up over the "Group of Eight Summit", they must be frothing at the mouth at the thought the USA is going to make the world safe for capitalism.

These hypocritical creatures weren't out in the streets when the ragheads perpetrated a sneak attack in NYC and killed 3,000 Americans in cold blood, they are intellectually and morally bankrupt and pathetic.

Thankfully they help the GOP in the polls everytime they take to the streets, and they'll find out what Americans really think about the war on Election day.

Melissa Mandel, a volunteer for one of the march organizers, International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), said the protests are helping to spread the word about the opposition to a U.S. attack in the Middle East.

Notice that FR is "right-wing" but NO mention that ANSWER is communist. Double standard. Call them on it!

The wonderful right-wing lady who was quoted was Mrs. HighRoadToChina. Isn't she great, or what? She even convert 2 peaceniks to the correct point of view! I was able to speak on the David Gold radio show on KSFO-thanks to Dave from Sacramento (sorry my brain needs sugar) and SeenTheLight. It was a great FReeper. We drew the peaceniks to our demonstration. The SFPD was awesome in protecting us. More to follow.

For the record, I believe the reporteret who wrote this story was wearing a "NO WAR IRAQ", bright orange, media badge issued by the peacenik group. We sharply questioned her objectivity and she really didn't have much of a response.

What delusional people. They think they have the power to stop the war. Only one person has that power -- the butcher of Baghdad, Saddam Hussein. He has the power to allow scientists to be questioned while their families are in a safe place. He has the power to show all of the places where there are nuclear activities. He has the power to destroy his missiles that exceed U.N. limits. He has the power to show us where thousands of tons of toxins are hidden so that they may be destroyed. That is how war can be avoided. Oh, one more thing. He also has the power to stand still so a sniper can put a bullet in his head.

Filling Market Street for several blocks, anti-war demonstrators cheered as Pritchett called for the crowd to pledge resistance to any move toward war. "We are going to shut this city down before we will let this country go to war," Pritchett said.

Bay Area Freepers:

We are planning on having our first official Bay Area Chapter meeting on 3/15. I’ll be posting information about that very soon, so stay tuned for the details.

After the success of our SF counter-protest yesterday, a few of us thought it would be a good idea to capitalize on the momentum and meet a little sooner, to do some brainstorming, organizing and planning.

So we’ve planned an earlier meeting for next Saturday, 2/22, at 1pm at the Pacific Coast Brewing Company in Oakland. It’s right near a BART stop (12th St.) and Drango has already checked it out and found it suitable for a meeting of this kind. Luckily they also have a web site, which includes directions. So come on down----any and all are welcome---we’ll be just as happy if 5 people show up as 50! Please FReepmail me if you are planning on coming, so we can keep a head count.
