I was watching Apocalypse Now Redux last night - one of the more interesting parts put back into the film is when they encounter the French plantation.

I thought it was hilarious when the owner of the plantation says, "World War II, we lose, Algeria we lose, Vietnam we lose!". I guess they've decided the "only winning move is not to play". ;)

Regards, Ivan

I say we do the same thing we did in WWII, sink all French vessels as they may be used by the enemy. Of course, then who will be left to fight Greenpeace?

Hopefully, Powell's presentation tomorrow will completely marginalize Chirac
and Schroeder, and we can end the charade that France and Germany are our "allies".

Heard part of the press conference. One reporter was practically apoplectic over the "Old Europe" characterisation and mentioned Rumsfeld by name. My, my. Hit a nerve!

Chirac, don't slip on your Brie on the way out.

I'm not surprised that Chirac's country is refusing to side against Iraq.

After all, Jacques Chirac was known in the 70's as Sheikh Iraq, because he was such a good friend of Saddam.

They will hang in the background until after victory is won, and then want to march into Baghdad in the lead. It's the same thing they did in Paris during WWII, so why should it be any different now?

France Surrenders to Texas High School

'"It may not sound like much, but after three days of smelly French cigarettes and being called 'cowboys' and 'arrogant' and 'stupid' and stuff, it finally gets to you," said Megan Prosser, a sophomore alto who led the initial charge. "Basically, we just snapped."'

This is a good thing, now the allied forces won't have to worry about the little froggies throwing their hands up and running away.

You heard that schmuck on Hannity yesterday?

James Woods gave it to him good. Never knew he was a conservative. And a smart conservative at that.

That sound you hear is the U.N. fading into international irrelevance. Music to my ears, really!

We are in Iraq because of the French. They harbored the Ayatollah Khomeini for 15 years, forcing us to back Saddam against the even bigger threat of Islamic revolution.

What a relief! We'd just have to negotiate for their release from POW camps later on.
