[history]
Something strange happened during the 2000 Gore-Bush election fiasco you may have missed.
CNN, which was running 24-hour special election coverage, hosted a program with conservative columnist Bob Novak shortly after the disputed election results were returned. Novak was adamant that Al Gore should quit trying to steal the election and concede. To bolster his point, he brought up the results of CNN.com's public-opinion poll "Should Al Gore concede?" Poll results showed that a full 89 percent of the thousands of people who had visited CNN.com and voted had agreed -- Gore should give up the ghost.

Didn't another paper report the same thing about Freepers??

That we can imagine bad things they could do makes them evil people.

"And all the people who believe what [FReepers] believe are now running the government." What a deranged, far-left perspective! There are, thank God, *some* in power with Freeper beliefs, but the dead weight in government that still burdens this country is astounding. Hitlery is a senator, for example: it will be a fine day when the above statement comes true.

"Online polls are silly -- everybody knows that," says liberal political analyst William Rivers Pitt That's why the stupid little "Scott Ritter wanna be" is doing it himself with the DUer's?

"These polls are put up there on Web sites and sold as if they are news, as if they are an accurate reflection of the opinions of American people, and they're not. Only because YOU ARE LOSING the battle, you little babies. You and the media who published them wanted people to think they were accurate until you LOST!

The S.F. Chron. might have a liberal bias? Shocking!

it does speak to a level of tolerance for violent speech on the right that I don't think is appropriate David Allen should know what he's talking about since every other word if f-this and f-that. I'm sure I can learn a thing or two from him. ROFLOL!

I tried to contact at least a dozen FReepers and right-wing organizations with FReepers in them (including Free Republic.com owner Jim Robinson), and very few of them were willing to talk to me. She must not have tried too hard. I find it hard to believe that any of us would refuse to talk to any reporter, even a lefty. I'll come back once i've shredded this half baked article to bits like it deserves.

The online polls must be freeped. Mark my words: otherwise the liberal news organizations would be reporting the liberal results as a piece of accurate news.

Steele's webmaster later told the LA Weekly that hundreds of "donations" listing fake credit-card numbers ended up costing Steele around $4,000, since she had to pay her e-commerce service company 25 to 35 cents to process each one. That just *stinks* to me. I don't buy it for a *second*.

Wow. That's a textbook example of a journalistically biased hit piece. And joyce, since you're reading this, I've worked at the AP and two networks, so I know what I'm talking about.
And I never received any Freepmails from you asking to engage in any discussion.
By the way, there haven't been any riots in my city since ... oh, ever. How's Oakland doing? Must be that right-wing lunatic fringe, eh?

But, still -- I tried to contact at least a dozen FReepers and right-wing organizations with FReepers in them (including Free Republic.com owner Jim Robinson), and very few of them were willing to talk to me. Why is that? Were they concerned I would misrepresent their views because they feel the media has a liberal bias?Shame the author had to end her piece with a bunch of crap.
Hey, Joyce! Register and post a thread - - you'll be amazed how many freepers will "talk to you".
To: L.N. Smithee
Anyway, Kershner says, SF Gate's polls are for entertainment value only. After all, the poll population is self-selected. The people who vote in online polls are those who care enough about an issue to vote -- by its very nature, a skewed population. But not everyone who looks at poll results knows the difference. As opposed to what other kind of poll? A poll where those who care enough about the issue to elect a Democrat counts? It appears not everybody knows there's really no difference.

Well, I mean, let's just say the obvious: THERE ARE ALSO LIBERALS SPAMMING THE POLLS. Duh. ;-) And it's not really that hard for these people to lock up the polls if they really want to. It's one line of code checking for an IP address, for the love of God. :-) Sure, a few people would still find a way to spoof their IPs, but I *highly* doubt the majority of us would bother to do anything remotely like that. Most people here just hit the poll once and zip they're out (and trying to convince other people on here to go see the poll by bumping the thread when they can).
And, again, I repeat, if there aren't JUST AS MANY if NOT MORE liberals out there spamming polls, I will eat Rob Reiner's shorts.
