No Kidding
Washington Post ^ | Monday, January 27, 2003 | By Howard Kurtz

Janeane Garofalo says she knows why Fox, CNN, MSNBC and "Good Morning America" have booked her to argue against war with Iraq.

"They have actors on so they can marginalize the movement," the stand-up comic says. "It's much easier to toss it off as some bizarre, unintelligent special-interest group. If you're an actor who is pro-war, you're a hero. If you're an actor who's against the war, you're suspect. You must have a weird angle or you just hate George Bush."

I don't know why, but I always found this woman to be beautiful and strangely attractive...(like you wanted to know, right?)

Too bad about the brain though...*sigh*

While Garofalo believes Saddam Hussein is a menace -- but that U.N. weapons inspectors should be given more time -- she also tosses around the word "imperialism" and declares that "this is a manufactured conflict for the sake of geopolitical dominance in the area.

"There is no evidence of weapons of mass destruction. You never even get that idea floated in the mainstream media. If you bring it up, they hate the messenger. You've ruined everyone's good time."

How can she claim to be 'informed' and say stuff like the above??? "no evidence" ????

what about Saddam's killing of 10,000 kurds with chemical weapons in 1988? and the fact that his 30,000 chemical munitions are still unaccounted for? "no evidence"?

"They have actors on so they can marginalize the movement,"

Therefore, I decided to crawl out of the woodwork and give 'em more ammunition.

No kidding? You've GOT to BE kidding!

The woman who once plied her trade on "The Larry Sanders Show," "Saturday Night Live" and such movies as "Reality Bites" has been all over the tube lately, arguing that the Bush administration is stampeding the country into a misguided war. And the experience has convinced her that major news organizations are unfair to liberal activists, especially of the celebrity stripe.

Amazing, simply amazing.....I wonder if she thinks that George Clooney has recieved "...unfair [treatment of his] liberal activism, especially of [his] celebrity stripe."? OH....ok....ok.....I guess it's ok to beat up on an old man with Altzheimers, simply because he's a conservative! I guess it's ok to make fun of people with Altzheimers if they don't agree with you politically.

Janeane, shut the *#$* up.

Here she is. She's full of hot air and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Just goes to show how truly clueless she is. They book actors because they draw attention from the celebrity minded. I would suspect that the GMA people are of like ideology and don't want the War "marginalized".

I don't know why, but I always found this woman to be beautiful and strangely attractive..

all the stranger is the fact that the reason she's getting any attention at all is a.) she is famous; b.) she is ugly; therefore, c.) she must be smart.

"What bugs the New Yorker most of all is when interviewers question whether she's torpedoing her career."

She ought to ask George Clooney about this. I heard on the radio today that his most recent movie has moved down to the #8 spot this past weekend, and the local radio guys were saying that it was probably directly related to his comments about Charlton Heston.

Interesting article. Kurtz even manages to get in a slam against Slate and Time.

Garofalo gets on the air to spout her cacabobo positions and then slams the networks because they have actors on to marginalize the peace movement?

May we paraphrase Ms. Gaofalo? --"If you didn't have maroons like me on the air, the peace movement would be taken seriously."

What can you expect from someone who can't even pronounce her own name? It obviously should be Jane Anne.

LOL, she looks like a man anyway.
BTW, is that a nasty, filthy, smelly cigarette in her hand?
