The first thing I would have wanted ot know as a cop is what bank had been robbed? Money flitting out the window of a car in my opinion doesn't constitute PC.

After reading all the posts on this I have to go back to the beginning- Why on earth were these people pulled over in the manner that they were?!? This, IMHO, is the most glaring obscene fact. Dog or no dog, you have a family, Mom, Dad, and a teenager (traveling in a station wagon, no less) being handcuffed and on their knees? And they aren't asked for IDs? The car registration isn't checked? The license plate number isn't run? I mean, what sort of gross incompetence is this? As to the dog, I watched the video, and the dog is not big, maybe knee high or less. And, with the medium length hair on the tail, didn't look like a pit bull to me. Also, there are several police officers in the area. (At least 4 squad cars worth). The ones near the car should have noticed the dogs and shut the doors. As a matter of procedure they should have checked the car anyway. Just about any dog, and that includes my super people-friendly 13 year old collie, will exhibit anything from excitement to distress under those circumstances. How on earth should have the dog behaved?

From Neal Boortz news today, 01/14:

"That police officer in Tennessee who shot that family’s dog during a traffic stop? Did you know that this makes dead dog number 3 for this police officer? Yup .. number 3. Now how many police officers do you know out there who have shot and killed three dogs."

Now THAT makes me really worried...and mad.
