Great posts to a bunch of knotheaded nonsense. It wasn't a "yakuza punishment" being meted out - the sow lost a finger due to resisting a lawful arrest. She may have hoped that because of ol' Malice Green, she could mouth off and run. Didn't work - shouldn't work. Cuffing is difficult if the person resists, cause you don't have three hands.

"Lawful Arrest."
What in your Naziesque opinion would define an un-lawful arrest? Is there a line somewhere that should not be crossed, or in your little world , is the Cop always the good guy and the citizen just a criminal who hasn't been convicted yet?
To: EricOKC
Define fascist.
I don't disagree with you about her possible fear. However, I'd hope you'd stop and consider how likely it is that people like this are making self-serving statements. Just like every idiot pulled over for going 85 in a 55. "Hello Officer, what seems to be the problem?" Like they don't know?
The incident you recount is different from this one. The cops hear identified themselves as cops and were not tresspassing. We'll find out if they did or didn't show a badge or some other ID - this is really the central point of all of this. I still maintain that if you pull out a gun at a traffic stop on a cop you feel is not properly identifying himself, you are very likely to be shot dead.
Re: interference. What do you suppose arguing with an officer at a traffic stop is and backing the car away from them?
To: F.J. Mitchell
Is every law authority a Nazi conspiracy in your view, or can you just not discuss things without pejoratives?
To: Hermann the Cherusker
If the jackboot fits, wear it! I could have used Stalinesque, Castroesque, or many others, but they all wore those, one size fits all, boots anyway.
Did you read all of my response? If so, why did you mention only the part that you felt would prove how broad minded you are, compared to the rest of us knuckleheads?
With your attitude, it doesn't matter a whit, what kind of regime rules us-just shut the hell up and submit! Americans just naturally question authority, until it identifies itself, and obeys only after said authority proves that it is in compliance with the law of the land. Real American's trust, but only after verification.

I'm not broad minded at all. I just don't enjoy discussions done by name-calling.

So I'm dictatorial and reactionary and fascistic because I choose to believe the cop? That really is a stretch.
There's no point in continuing to go back and forth on the incident until we hear further evidence regarding the case at hand.
However, as a general legal principle, having a motor vehicle turned on in a public parking lot while drunk is DWI. If a cop is suspicious of you in this postion, they can investiagte. You can be pulled over for failing to stop at stop within privately owned parking lots (like at a mall or office building). I almost failed my drivers test initially because I didn't stop at the end of an aisle where I thought I didn't need to (no sign, and I thought the drivers making the turn into my aisle had to yield right of way - they didn't it turned out). I believe there have even been DWI cases lost by defendants who were on their own driveway with the vehicle on, but drunk and fallen asleep. The principle was that the car could easily intrude onto the public roadways, even though it was on the defendants property, and they were operating the vehicle because it was turned on. The Vehicle Code is pretty strict.
One last thought - any case against her is a he said, she said kind of thing. On the other hand (no pun intended), there is pretty clear physical evidence for what the cop did. Who would you try in court?

Such sensitivity, befitting of either a liberal or an artist. Didn't I read one of your responses back there in which you referred to those who disagreed with you as some kind of a nut?

>>From the attitude of the rest of you, I can see whay you would all very easily get on the bad side of an officer. Really, if you are law abiding, you have nothing to fear from the police.<<
Are you familiar with the Hillside Strangler case? An uncle and nephew team in L.A. posed as plainclothes policemen, complete with badges and flashing light. They would "arrest" women and take them back to their house, where they would rape and torture them, then murder them. Dozens of them, if I remember correctly.
The murderers used every means of execution available: Lethal injection (Windex), asphyxiation (strangulation by rope was their favorite method), etc. Gruesome methods, nothing was deemed too cruel.
Pardon me if I think an ordinary citizen, especially women alone, should be concerned when strangers approach a car at night demanding that she step outside.
In fact, the real policemen involved in that case made a point of saying that a woman is under no obligation to step out of the car for a plainclothes policeman. She has the right to request that uniformed officers arrive.
I hope this these points are not lost on you.

"The vehicle code is very strict."
And property rights are pretty clearly spelled out in the bill of rights. Farm kids are allowed to drive whatever dad allows on the old home spread-vehicles do not have to be licensed as long as they never leave personal property.
I really doubt your assertion about a car turned on in a private parking lot by someone who's three sheets in the wind , being a DWI. I had a fender bender in the parking lot of a private business in Galatin, Tenn, and we had a hellova time even getting a city cop to write up an accident report for insurance purposes. By the way, you refer to the parking lot owned by a private business as a public parking lot-it is not.

The Hillside Strangler has nothing to do with fearing the police. The police didn't strangle dozens of women. What the heck is your point? That people who aren't careful will fall for impersonators?
Frankly, its not hard to get a uniform and all if you want to pose as a cop. Try a Halloween store. Does this give us carte blanche to aim guns at everyone who we think might be a cop?

You are a blithering idiot. If you have daughters, I sure as hell hope they have enough sense to pour pi** out of a boot, unlike yourself.

A Haloween store that sells police uniforms. Riiiight. Again, you are a blithering idiot. I won't waste any more of my time arguing with a fool.

Couldn't find you calling people a nut-but I did dig out a few of the numerous disparing phrases you used to describe those with differing opinions from yours.
#32-"The usual Cop bashers here."
47-"You are totally paranoid to use one example as a reason for such behavior."
61-"and why do you Cop bashers always assume the cop is lying."
68-"oh, please tough guy."
75-"The only thing simple here is your mind."
90-"A late night drunk like the woman in the incident, or a police basher like your self."
You call us all a bunch of liberterans, more times than I can count.
I come to realize as I reread your responses, that one with your blind obedience to authority, right or wrong, legitimate or feigned, so spineless and self preservation oriented like all sheep , would submit to and conform happily, to any form of tyranny whatsoever, Democracy is okay with you but so would be anything else.
