I wax and wane with my hypogammaglobulinemia so I decided I was tired of waning and started taking antibiotics a few weeks ago. They allowed me to wrap gifts, decorate my house, make a simple Christmas dinner and spend some time with my husband where I was semi-alert.
Now that we have won the Senate, many threads at FR feel the best use of time is spent carping that the President hasn't taken complete control of the bureaucracy and solved all our governmental and societal woes yet. You can't have many intelligent conversations in such an atmosphere. They don't talk strategy, which would be interesting; they just rant.
As this is the season of good cheer and gratitude to God, I have tended to spend less time here and enjoy the season as best I can.
Have you ever read Zenna Henderson's "The People" series? I found myself picking up that old book and enjoying it the other night. Katherine Harris' Center of the Storm is on the way from Amazon now. Want to borrow it when I'm done?
I'm glad to hear that you were able to make it through Christmas with at least enough energy to do the necessities. How hard it must be for you to have to make such choices.
I admire you so very much, and I will certainly pray for you.
I do understand your staying away from this place when you don't want to argue with fools (FR in general, that is.....not the Dose!) I've had times when I lacked the energy to continue to fight the good fight here, and I am healthy. The problem is that you are one of the most articulate, knowledgeable people around, and can knock the bashers down with information, well stated, so you are sorely missed in the 'fray' when you are absent.
I pray that you have a 'waxing' New Year, and that God gives you the strength you need to do those tasks He has given you, and blesses you and yours. I am proud to know you, patriciaruth!
I knew there were pictures today, but alas, no Dose!
Have you noticed how affectionate the President has been with the First Lady down there at the ranch? Looks like they're having a good time! Must be that Texas air......hehe
Good night, freepersup and everyone else who's hanging around! I'll check back in in the morning to see what's happening!
