That sparks a thought--I don't think the Kennedys could cover up another Mary Jo today--there are too many news outlets, and the tabloids cannot (all) be bought off. What do you think?

Hannity is at it again...

Today he actually gave air time to Jesse Jackson. No Conservative...no person putting forward a Conservative agenda would give talk time to Jesse Jackson.

This sort of thing keeps Jackson relavent. Simply rediculous.

It is Sean Hannity that is trying to keep this a Liberal versus Conservative issue.

It is Sean Hannity that is allowing the Left to readjust to this issue they have created. Now that they see us preparing to replace Lott with a "real" Conservative, they are backtracking from removal from leadership to a simple censure. They dont have control of a racial issue they created....we do...and now they want to cut their losses in order to leave Lott in so that they can use him.

"We" should be the only one's involved in this now. It is a Conservative issue at this point. Our house our business. Sean Hannity is giving ground to the left with this endless discussion of a double standard. The discussion brings them to the table...the discussion gives them [air]time to lie and verbally adjust. They [left] cant defend the double standard....it is blatent and it speaks for itself...why discuss it with them? Discussion at this point is for cake-boys who want to play on the left's field.

Dont discuss anything with them.

This constant question of "do you accept his apology?" Simply stupid...stupid question that implies if we accept his apology that it assuages legitimate judgement. Adolescent at the core.

We hold the reigns of power. Why should we discuss anything as rediculous as this with them? We remove Lott from leadership [lightning rod] and go about pushing our agenda [without alot of talk]....not giving airtime to blatent liars, thieves and criminals.

Sean Hannity is a tool and I am quickly losing respect for him.

I don't understand the importance of needing Jesse Jackson to accept an apology either. Jackson doesn't want an apology, he wants to shake Trent Lott down for some legislative promises and denounce his Party as a racist good old boys club

True .. but the question is why is Jesse appearing on Hannity's show .. and why appear on Fox??

Kind of like why did Hillary felt the need to mention how Rush apologized to her at a speech she gave in NY

The Dems are up to something and I don't think it has much to do with Lott

Yeah...

Sean is a baffoon. Gave Jackson time to discuss the issue. As if Jackson is a respectable, honest adult male who we would ourselves attempt to engage in legitimate discussion.

Jackson is a pure criminal wearing a suit. No different from Al Capone [save Capone had balls].

And Sean brings him on to talk about this.

To me [imho] rediculous.

"The Dems are up to something and I don't think it has much to do with Lott"

Oh but it does.

They see us getting ready to pull Lott's card and they dont want that. They want Lott in there...so they can gang-rape him everytime a judge nominee, a legislative issue, anything comes up.

They are trying to seal the crack they created by coming after Lott. Lott [a handwringing dealmaker] is now gonna get removed and replaced with someone who they cant bend over....so they are trying to silence the whole topic. Watch for the stories in the media meant to deflect this ssue. Meant to remove it from the frontpage...they [Liberals] now want Lott as the Leader.

I'm sure that is part of the reason, but I get the feeling there is a much bigger picture going on

As for Hannity, I wouldn't dump on him to much, it was just an interview

Immigration may not look like much of a problem in Ohio, but down here in Texas it is getting worse by the day. I don't give a damn if President Bush gets us a nice tax cut or a puts a couple of semi-conservative judges on the bench if the price is going to be having my home turned into a third world hell hole ten or fifteen years from now.

As to Trent Lott, sure have him resign, just as soon as the dems throw Robert Byrd and the rest of his ilk to the NAACP wolves. We wouldn't want the racial sensitivity lynching to be selectively enforced, would we?

I still consider myself an Arizonian. I was born there, and lived there for 25 years, so I know all about immigration and its problems.

But the Lott problem has nothing to do with immigration and everything to do with Lott being a moron, who compounded his error several times over. Now he is trying to blackmail the party: "If I can't keep my little position, I'll resign altogether." Yeah, there's a person of principle.

Oh, and those "couple of judges" make all the difference in the WORLD in how you enforce immigration law. It was a court, not the voters, which undid Prop. 209.

Actually Lott does have a bit to do with the immigration issue. He's one of the few republican politicians who have actually endorsed putting troops on the border. Granted, he had to be pinned down to say it, but he said it nonetheless. Look at the way President Bush snubbed Tom Tancredo for refusing to lock-step with the reconquista. Could be that's another reason President Bush is so keen to join with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the dems in running Lott out of town on a rail.

The party has certainly come a long way from Ronald Reagan's Thou shalt not speak ill of another republican. I don't particularly agree with much of Lott's positions, but he's a damn site better than the leftist RINO's who vote more with the socialists than conservatives. But I guess we'll keep them as long as they're acceptable to our enemies.

You want to talk about principles? What principles are being displayed by the President to do this to a leading Republican Senator over a few stupid remarks? What principles are being shown by the refusal to close our borders or even reinforce the border patrol when our country is supposedly at war with "the axis of evil"? I am beginning to see a pattern of behavior developing in President Bush that involves betraying his supporters and members of his party to curry favor with leftist groups.

Hell, I wouldn't blame Lott one bit if he quits the senate after all the "support" he's gotten from his fellow republicans. Do you think he should be grateful for being stabbed in the back and thrown out by his own party just because those moral paragons in the racial exploitation brigade say so? He's probably feeling the same level of gratitude towards the Republican Party I do when I think of the border situation.

I kind of doubt the immigration problem is going to be solved by President Bush making judicial appointments, when all his previous actions have been to keep illegal immigration going strong and our borders wide open just to suck up to the Hispanic groups and the Mexican government. The same way he's sucking up to the NAACP and the dems with the Lott situation.

Funny how "principles" come out suddenly when here, at least, EVERYONE called for Lott's head just two months ago. Now its about "immigration?" Gimme a break.

As for Lott's statement about "putting troops on the border," why would you trust what he said about that when (if you are one of those calling for his ouster just months ago) he was not credible then. I want to know where all these people who suddenly find Lott such a STRONG and CREDIBLE leader were last year?

No, you immigration guys are way off base on this one. It has nothing whatsoever to do with immigration, in any way shape or form. Honestly, some of you are getting as bad as the pro-life kooks, about whom EVERY SINGLE thing in Washington revolves.

Immigration is an issue. We need to deal with it. But it is completely separate from this Lott thing. Rush is right, this needs to be attacked head-on as being about race and hypocrisy, and to muddy the waters with immigration reduces the important debate we need to have about both issues.

Did you even bother to read my post? I have never on this board called for Lott's ouster. I said in my post there were things I didn't agree with Lott about. Did I say he was a "STRONG and CREDIBLE" leader? No.

However, just because I don't agree with some of his stands on the issues, I don't go jumping into bed with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Nancy Pelosi to destroy him. Disagreeing with him is no excuse for gleefully betraying him to the Republican party's enemies.

Now that this has worked so well for the dems, I'm sure they are already sharpening their knives and picking out their next target. Maybe their victim will be a pro-life "kook", and you'll be able to rationalize helping them lynch another republican leader.

You are partially right that immigration is a sepreate issue from this. But I see a time not too far down the road when hispanic groups will be enthusiastically hounding Politicians out of office using the same racial tactic that has worked so perfectly with Lott.

After all, we've handed them the poisoned dagger, why shouldn't they use it?

Doesn't it feel good to be sooooooooooo right?

Hannity needs to walk away from this. We all understand what is happening here. We all understand what the Liberals are doing. With that said...

None of this would be happening if Lott hadnt said what he said. He is developing a track record for comments that "have to be taken in their context" that coincidentally happen to offend Blacks.

Lott needs to go and Hannity needs to let him go.

And you are also sooooooooooo right:

It is fair game to pull old KKK alumni Byrd. We can attach Biden's copying someone else's work and Ted Kennedy cheating in college. Let is have some real fun. The name of Mary Jo Kopechne is now open for discussion.

Quite the contrary. This has worked out quite well. We now have a Maj. Leader who is both smart and effective; the Dems have totally overplayed their hand and will continue, as Rush says, to learn the wrong lessons.

The Dems have done for us what we could not do for ourselves.
