My friend, carbs have been a dietary staple since time immemorial. And yet the fat explosion in America, especially among the young, is a new phenomena. The Atkins theory doesn't account for that.

Not carbs like Twinkies, white bread, and colas..they've only been around since 1900..the carbs we ate before were mostly whole grain.
