The IRA and the Basque seperatist movement squandered any sympathy they or their causes might have deserved by resorting to terror.

The occupation and destruction of Tibet is one of history's great tragedies, approaching the destruction of the library at Alexandria and the destruction of Athens by the Peloponnesian War.

Should the goal of Islam--i.e. world domination--succeed, or even if it should succeed in taking over Europe--the tragedy would dwarf these other great world tragedies and would exceed World War II in tragic significance.

I can't think of what might be the last one. There are many minor conflicts, some of which occasionally erupt into violence. And of course there's the China/Formosa conflict, which threatens to erupt. North Korea is a threat, and evidently the government perpetrates considerable violence upon the subjugated people.
