As you know, the president and his own advisors have said they took the most partisan attempts ever in an election, and it paid off for them. He won a lot of seats.Isnt that what campaigning is all about?

However, the Clinton Party is NEVER partisan, NEVER negative, NEVER nasty, etc.

I read an interview with Ralph Reed, who handled the GA campaign. He is of the opinion the most damaging issue for the democrats was the vote Cleland (D)gave against allowing the boy scouts in public schools because of their stand against homosexual scoutmasters.
He said the mainstream press is totally ignoring the issue. I guess if it became common knowledge the Democrat lost was because of the boy scout-homosexual issue, it would damage the perception they are trying to create that americans are against the boy scouts.

I remember one top Democrat before the election complaining that the White House was "politicizing the elections."

The president and his advisors never said anything of the sort. The president went out and supported members of his own party. Never once in his standard stump speech did he mention Democrats. When he spoke of the Homeland Security Bill, he would always say a good bill was passed by the House but it was stuck in the Senate, which was (and remains) true. Every statement attributed to Leahy in this article is a LIE -- not the article, but Leahy's statements.
