Might be a good idea to read this thread, select a nit or two, and pick it with the nitter! Sorta like I did with The Raven, above.

Will keep the thread bumped, anyway.

And, there are some new faces in this crowd.

>>hen, it would take a Constitutional Ammendment to reimpose a federal income tax. And that would be very hard!

Or a liberal federal judge - reading the "living, breathing" constitution to suit his conclusion.

My belief is that after a year or two with an NRST, people would be so enamored with it that it would put an undeniable momentum behind any move to repeal the 16th Amendment. Anyone who tried to oppose the repeal of the 16th Amendment would probably be ground up by the voters and spat out, again, at the next election. Which is why I think Bush should pass HR 2525 as soon as possible. Then when 2004 comes along he can use the issue of repealing the 16th Amendment to hammer the Democrats with the way he used Homeland Security in the last couple of months.

>>Under the NRST, the economy will take off like a Saturn Five rocket to the moon and Americans will be doing so well economically

The libs base their ideology on "economic equality" - so for them - this is a disaster.

Once the 16th is gone, it will stay gone.

Green Knight in his post #183 got it exactly right: "My belief is that after a year or two with an NRST, people would be so enamored with it that it would put an undeniable momentum behind any move to repeal the 16th Amendment. Anyone [politician] who tried to oppose the repeal of the 16th Amendment would probably be ground up by the voters and spat out, again, at the next election."

Tar and feathers = "ground up and spat out."

Seems to me I remember a little fictionalized story you cooked up some years back that told the story of the President with the cajones to get this job done...it had a prophetic ring to it, IMO.

He went down in history as a true American hero, and April 15th was declared to be 'Tax Freedom Day'...

Could be bigger than the Fourth of July, I think! ;-)

Get involved, FReepers, get involved! Go to http://www.salestax.org and http://www.votr.org and get involved.

Thank you for all you do here. I just joined the NRSTA mailing list.

Thank you, scripter. Many others have, also. NRST support is growing, and with your help, we can do this!

You are right, EV. Think I'll dust that puppy off, update it, and post it tomorrow!

I'll send a copy to President Bush, too.

Your perception is correct -- but then, we have had 89 years of "economic equality" in the tax code, and what, precisely has it got us?

Americans are not stupid. This past election showed (finally!) that Marxist philosophy of race baiting divide and conquer class warfare will no longer work. It simply does not resonate with the American public.

The Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharptons, Jimmy Carviles, Dick Gebhardts and Tom Dassholes of America have been marginalized. The election of Nancy Pelosi as House Minority Leader and re-election of Tom Dasshole as Senate Minority Leader show just how out of touch that crowd is.

If those of us who love Liberty and FReedom and revere the written Constitution and the Founding Principles of this country do not take supreme advantage of this past election to re-shape our country in the manner the Founding Fathers intended it to be, why, SHAME ON US!

Those Liberal/Socialist/Marxist Bastards have almost ruined America in the past 70 years -- it is up to us to fix it.

And now is the time!

If I could have one but prayer answered for this country it would be ending the slave tax. After that I truly believe the rest could fall into place.

Well spoken Sir! Well spoken and TRUE!

Once the 16th is gone, it will stay gone.

We also need a cap on total expenditures....to ensure the libs don't REQUIRE finding more revenues with an income tax.
