Heard on the news that they paid $250 (maybe that was their share of the car as there's a co-owner) for the Caprice. Where on earth are you getting a car that runs for that much? Maybe he worked on it himself. Maybe someone else paid for it. Curiousier and curiousier.

If there is a big sales tax maybe they only claimed $250 on registration. I've heard of people in other states that do this and pay the rest "under the table". If New Jersey is like Pennsylvania you must provide the purchase price to register vehicle. That is how they charge the sales tax. Dealers wouldn't do this but private seller might.
