I'm a little concerned....

Posted on 10/10/2002 12:40:59 PM PDT by JimThayner

umm...I'm a little concerned about some stuff on this website. why do we call democrats 'rats? they call us "repugnants" I think we're above that kind of childish namecalling. I think we're coming down a little too hard on the liberals too. I'm an Independent, and I try to find the truth. well, the TRUTH is that 90% of the time, conservatives are correct. why do i voice opposition? Aren't we above all this stuff that the democrats do? I think we need to prove to America that WE are controlled, clear thinking, intelligent, and sophistacted people. NOT people who go and cheer and jeer at the other side. my suggestion is this: Instead of going out to cheer and geer at the democrats, we should go out and do community service projects, hand out fliers, and do stuff to help the community. THAT is what will separate us from the democrats. WE spend our time living what we chant about, the democrats spend their time chanting all the time. Talkting instead of DOING. I think we need to go beyond a "political party." I DO believe that the liberals will destroy our country if not stopped. However, i don't want us to destroy it in the process of trying to stop them. Lets show them up: do work for others, and such. Organize relief for disaster victims. (headlines: FreeRepublic first on site rendering aid to distaster victims, liberals shocked at being shown how much jerks liberals are" Spend less time and money on trying to talk the liberals to death with reason (obviously that won't work). Spend time DOING. My father knew California State Assemlyman Brian (B.T.) Collins since they were in Boy Scouts together. Look up BT Collins. he was a POPULAR Republican in CALIFORNIA! He spent his time helping other people, and used the phrase "is the world any better because you were in it?" I would like to offer my own version: "Is america better off because of the Republican Party's majority?" What do you all think about this? BTW, don't worry, I'm not a liberal. jim

You must not know many true conservatives. If you did, you'd already know we do plenty of DOING. We volunteer at our schools, churches, crisis pregnancy centers, food shelves, Big Brother/Big Sisters, etc. We believe government isn't the solution, people are. Unlike liberals, we don't wear our compassion on our sleeves like a badge for the whole world to see. It's just part of who we are and what we believe.

Worth repeating and so true.

Being nice hardly ever got pubs anything

Today's occurrences in Montana is a prime example of this...Racicot apparently not interested in running, and there will probably be GOP talking heads on TV tonight saying that we won't try to run anyone new on the Montana ballot because it "wouldn't be right and wouldn't be according to the rule of law." I guess we'll be noble but still not have a GOP senator from Montana.

We call the Democrat's, Rats because it is true. If it were not, we would not call them that. I usually call them Demons, which is also true. We only speak the truth on this website and have fun doing it. There is nothing wrong at what you suggest doing. You can go out and help others and still call them Rats or Demons at the same time. The thing about it is Rats or Demons are too good for them. They have sunk so low, I don't think a name in the English language can describe how low down they have become.

You raise a reasonable question. The answer is that once you truly understand what groups and causes the democrats affiliate themselves with, and aide by default due to their political strategies, there's nothing left to call them but rats. Great big f------ RATS!

Uh? Duh. I call them 'rats because that's what you ordinarily call someone who gives his word to a 99 year old retiring Senator to bring his nominee for judge to a floor vote and then renegs....ala Rat Leaky Leahy. Isn't it?

I don't consider the use of the word RAT primarily as name calling when describing democrats. I believe it is an accurate label. It's like calling someone without table manners a pig. True, it is name calling but can also be an accurate label used to describe the person's eating habits. Oh I suppose we could call them DUMocrats but that doesn't do justice to their general lack of ethics and penchant for illegality.

The Rats themselves raised the issue. They went to great pain and extreme expense to point out that a Republican commercial subliminally highlighted "rats" and was disparaging yada, yada, yada.

We are now enlghtened on the subject and it's perfectly ok.

Another newbie and a Libertarian to boot. LOL

Look, you are allowed to have your opinions ; however, you don't barge into a well established place and then complain about what it's like. As for Ann Coulter, wimpy Conservatives get walked on. It's long past time that we fight back, using the Lefties' tactics. Offense works better than a game of continual catchup / defense.

If you think that Liberals really want to " end poverty and crime "; think again. Both work well , to get them elected.

Politics has been a " bloodsport ", since before this nation was a nation. New to politics, are you ?

Don't like " screamers " ? Stay away from FR !

first point big Jim, go to HTML boot camp and learn how to format your writing,
I could not make it past the first couple of sentences
secondly who does it hurt calling them names like Hildabeast, or hitlery, or the toon.
I will not use the argument they started it, but this website is fun,
and if we can take out our frustration with the RAT party, or the Dumbocrats, why the hell not.

besides the fact that they are bunch of sneaky little RATS.
Truth in advertising and all that.

"They took the gloves off a long time ago. The left in this country hates America, hates Western civilization, hates free enterprise, hates freedom and hates the Constitution. They have declared war on everything we hold dear and stop at nothing to wage it."

That, my friend, is ridiculous, and it's that kind of willful blindness and demonization of others -- your neighbors and co-workers, if not your friends and family -- which turns politics, which is war by other means, into war itself.

This site is fun and irreverent and non pc and that is why we love it. Further, use of the term "rats" is a fearless response to the ridiculous issue they created in the last election that as the word "democrats" scrolled on a GOP ad for a milisecond you could only (subconciously no less) see the word "rats." So I get a little cheer everytime I see it.

Further, in my own experience the dem political party is about the most corrupt phony self serving organization you will find.
