Oh, have a little heart, folks! The Left needs its martyrs too! His name ('unidentified') will be added to the Progressive Movement's proud shrine of Saints along with that crippled, assasinated Marilyn Monroe's lover, Martin Luther Whatsisface, Huey Newton, Rodney King and Saint Hillary, the last two still with us, unfortunately!

It was unclear how long the injured man had been on the ground.... The man, who was believed to have a broken arm and leg..."I'd give him a score of 7.5. To achieve a high score one should have a clean neck snap. But he did die, so ultimate effectiveness should be worth something.

Anybody else find the following statement from the AP report a little baffling:
"... Julia "Butterfly" Hill spent two years 180 feet up a
1,000-foot redwood.."
From the Guiness Book of World Records:
"The tallest living tree today is the Mendocino Tree, a coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) found at Montgomery State Reserve near Ukiah, California, USA. In September 1998, it was 172 m (367.5 ft) tall, with a diameter of 3.14 m (10 ft)."
Another example of some eco-idiot not knowing what the hell their talking about.

This tree clearly does not meet the California ADA requirements. It must be cut down, or brought into compliance. But the tree was inhabited by the mentally disabled.

I think the tree pushed him. Think about it. Would you want some unwashed lice infested hippie sitting on you for weeks on end?
To: timpad
Hope he didn't hit any of our forest furry friends on the ground. Then PETA would have to get after his estate. LOL

Well, that is sad he died.
But I have to ask this question. They say they are for the environment, but what do they do with all the trash and HUMAN WASTE they excrete while they are up there for so long?? How great for our environment is that crap?? (pun intended)

Oh, my God. And there's a tree-hugger sitting on the lawn in front of the State Capitol in Sacramento on the fourth day of a hunger strike - she's vowing not to eat until Gov. Davis signs some law to protect the Red Woods. They seem to value trees more than human life.

That was pretty stupid of him. Maybe he was following a spotted owl.
