Gunning for trouble in Maryland
The Washington Times ^ | 09OCT2002 | unsigned editorial

Maryland's Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, has been hinting that restrictions on firearms ownership might have prevented the recent string of shootings that have terrorized the region and left at least six people dead. Although careful not to appear to be making political hay of the carnage, Mrs. Townsend nonetheless quipped not-so-elliptically the other day that there must be a new debate "about how best to protect our citizens," and that existing gun control laws "save lives."

I'm sick of the presstitutes calling this foul creature a sniper. Carlos Hathcock was a sniper.

Snipers ARE murderer's. That's their job. This includes Hathcock, who counts unarmed women in his body count. The only difference is government employee snipers have a legal right to murder.

Project Exile is a snitch-line for turning in 'prohibited persons' who have guns.

Ahh,but it's MUCH more than that. It originated as a brain fart by that senile old idiot Heston and the other NRA "leadership",and it's REAL purpose is to make a federal offense AND a felony out of ALL gun law violations. Bubba-2 even wants to hire more federal prosecutors specifically to handle Project Exile cases.

It isn't anything to do with preventing or prohibiting people carrying a rifle from one state to another. That's what the #30 was asking about. You're quite right about the ulterior motives of Exile, though.

In Saving Private Ryan, during the landing, the Tom Hanks character sends his sharpshooter, Scripture quoting, left-handed, so he has to reach over the top of the receiver to work the bolt, played by Barry Pepper, to "put suppressing fire" on a sandbagged MG-42 emplacement. The Pepper character tags the gunner and the a-gunner, and two more rounds from his .03-A3 collapses the entire pile of bags. Nice, satisfying, but hardly even remotely real. Real sandbags stop bullets, that's why they are there. Bullets make a .308 diameter hole, that's less then your pinky, in the burlap cloth, and can burrow in another foot or so before stopping. They do not explode, although a .30-06 bullet hitting a slab of meat might make you think they do.

The notion that disarming ordinary citizens who pose no threat to anyone will somehow deter a psychotic who is gunning down total strangers, apparently for no reason at all, is as ridiculous as the idea that "controlling" hunting knives would have saved Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman ...

Or that controlling automobiles being driven by Kennedys would have saved Mary Jo Kopechne from Kathleen's Uncle Teddy.

No. Project Exile is a snitch-line for turning in 'prohibited persons' who have guns.

That sux! Be careful not to pitch a hissy-fit or say a dirty word while handling a gun outdoors! Some might want you to be turned in!
