What nonsense. Only an idiot could compose a sentence indicating the Iraqis will "elect to defend" anything. As an invading force, the US will have the sole power of "electing" anything. The invading force need not fight on a "house to house" basis, because once adequately surrounded, the city can be choked to death.

The writer seems to think the US objective is territory control. It is not: the objective is regime change. If Iraqis think an embargo is bad, wait until the citizens of Baghdad have no water, electricity, or incoming supplies. They'll have Saddam's head on a platter.....
