Before the press conference, the judge on Fox confirmed that this is an UNTESTED law and will most definitely be challenged. Successfully, from the sound of things. He basically said that there is no way that a state governor can cancel a federal election.

If Torch withdraws his name, it means that the Pubby wins by default. No state law can hold power over federal election procedings.

Yep, that's what it sounds like! And that's why they are filing with the supreme court to try to muscle some other name onto the ballot.

They're so transparent, can't be expected to play by the rules, they remind me of my brother, when we were kids and he would dump the checker board if he was losing. Torricelli is quitting only because he can't win, and they are changing the rules again, hoping for some liberal court decision in their favor, contrary to the law, just like they did in the presidential election. Unbelievable!

The DNC is hoping to create a muddy legal mess and try to bring back the bad memories of Florida 2000, while blaming the GOP, of course. They are losing nationally, and thus dividing and inflaming are their best options left. Fire up the base, force the GOP into a mudfight, and hopefully disgust the middle/swing voters and reducing their turnout.
