"The regime has not attempted an anti-Western terrorist attack since its failed plot to assassinate former
President Bush in 1993 in Kuwait." To be sure, for George W., that is a special case.

Of course for Kinsley, George Bush sr. was no one special,
just another republican interloper between Democrat Presidents.
But OH if he (Saddam) had tried to assassinate Bill Clinton
that would have been another story!

This is where we differ and differ a lot, even if it had
been Bill Clinton, I would have recogized that it was an attack on the President of MY United States.
Democrats just don't seem to have that understanding.
For me it was an act of war, one that is on going and anyone
that fails to understand that, or willfully obstructs it
needs to be delt with in no uncertain terms.

Oh

What is so frustrating about the Democrats is their naked political opportunism, even on issues of national security. I just read Robert Novak's column, where he talks about how Democrats are trying to figure out what position to take on war against Iraq based on how it will help them within the party. Uhh, ever consider taking a position based on what you really believe??
