Just popped over to the votescam.com website. What they wrote about "fixing" the electronic voting machine software fits with all the "mistakes" and missing machines in florida. There should be a law requiring all publicly used voting machines to have their inner workings available for public scrutiny. software, diagnostic routines etc.

I think you can participate as an 'observer'. You have to register, I believe. Watch the process of transporting the ballots, feeding the counting machines, etc. But inspect the machines themselves? And see the source code?
Even still, observers can't be everywhere at once. Lots of error for pre-voted ballots, hacking, etc. Not to mention that it's all done by Voter News Service. A media organ.
