Thanks for the updates, Gramps. I sure thought the Biscuit fire would be out before I returned home. I guess there is still some fire season left, though.

The looney lefties cut down three billboards on 101 between Eureka and Arcata on Friday nite. They thought they were on the Wildlife Reserve. One small problem...they sit on private land according to a recent USWS survey. The billboard companies do have some on the reserve but they were leased before the reserve was established and the companies want compensation for them.

Thanks for the feedback.

We hardly hear about the Alaska Fires.

Of course with only 2.4 million acres burnt, the fires in Alaska were truly insignificant! That is only 3750 square miles burnt. (Sarcasm off)

It will be a long time before the Biscuit Fire burns out or dies out. Hidden in the latest Biscuit, Floristry Circus Klown update was this little remark, It will take significant moisture to reduce the combustion capability of fuels, and more than one rain will be needed to eliminate the fire danger.

Grampa Dave will translate this. Since most of the fire was in the Kalmiopsis Wilderness where it is against the perverted Tree Hugging Law to fight a good fire, one caused by lightening. We the Klowns of the Floristry Circus will stand around the former Kalmiopsis Wilderness, holding hands and chanting Fire is Good! Fire is great!

This Druid Chanting will continue until we have had more than one significant rain.

In the meantime our Green Treehugging Butt Buddies in the media are putting out our Green Lies that these fires and in particuliar the Biscuit fire were really minor little fires. Minor Fires blown out of proportion by the evil conservatives on Free Republic and Bush, the bad president who wants to return common sense to our forests.

Sorry to hear that I'll be sporadic at best..... Are there any good medications for being sporadic?

That would make me LOL if it weren't so true...and so sad.

I can tell you that the news of the fires that I saw while in Mississippi and Texas reported that it was a big deal. Those are two very conservative states, though. I enjoyed the news much more than I do here! ;o)

Wonderful work! I'm looking for a WebCam or freeway cam that will show the billboard. Could you post a little mapquest map or give as much details on the location? That would be such a great link to find!

Bravo
