"But do you ENFORCE THE BILL OF RIGHTS????" Do you mean, do I "support" the Bill of Right? Yes. And, I don't thinks asking to see a vin number is an imposition upon my Forth Amendment rights; especially when requested in an area know for vehicle thefts and could reduce the risk of my vehicle being stolen.
As to that manager - Me thinks he protests too much.

It is the manager's job to maximize profits. It is the truck drivers job to maximize profits. Over the road truck drivers are paid by the mile not by the hour. If a trucks wheels are not moving, the company and the driver are not making money. The truckers stated that they were going to get on the CB to warn other truckers not to stop. If they don't stop, the manager doesn't make money. This isn't rocket science.
