Our company just switched medical plans to another provider. They wanted my SSN to use as an ID and I refused. They asked for it later to look up previous records. Then, they gave me an alternate number for my patient ID. It was my SSN, backwards.

WOnderful.

I am amazed at how often I am asked for my SSN these days. From the cable company to apartment complexes....everyone wants my SSN. The attitude I receive whenever I complain implies that I am some kind of un-american wierdo who is not to be trusted. I was begining to believe that I am the only one left in America who wants some semblance of privacy. Sometimes I wonder if the services are really worth it.
