(Regarding the answer to stopping the 'in-house wars')
The answer is for everyone to just stop doing it.
I know that is hard for some, because things have gotten to the point where now things are personal. There are wounds in some cases, and in others there is anger. Makes it really hard for people to stand down. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure it has been planned this way.
Earlier tonight thanks to a tip from someone who I wish I had listened to earlier, we discovered someone who had at least 8 different accounts. One bashed Horowitz, Swaggert, and Art Bell. Another bashed Keyes. Another posted as a rabid Keyester. Another posted as a Klayman basher. Several seemed to have a thing for mocking Registered.
What was the guy's game? Here is a graphic and caption off of the profile of one of them:
Yes, he wanted to get people fighting to where they would walk away.
One of this guy's incarnations posted a piece or two from anarchist website strike-the-root, which to me hints to what his ideology is. It would also explain why he had a knack for going after the DC chapter folks. I recall nrkybill (anarchy Bill) had some issues with you all. They are not the same people, I don't think, but if their ideology is the same and their main targets are the same, then it is possible that there is some connection.
Obviously, the goal is to drive people away. This is not happening on just one side, it is happening on all sides. It is a form of disruption that relies on the cover of good people engaging in flame wars with them so that the disruptors seem part of the mass rather than the agent provocatuers that they are.
There are two options, really. People can help us out in finding them by refusing to take part in the flame wars and being understanding when a person gets sent to the cooler, so that eventually the real problem children are rooted out.
And the other option is to let them win by letting them drive you away- with you being people from every single conservative faction we have. Rest assured though, if that one happens, if you make another home and it starts being successful, they will come there and do it to you there.
I've asked this before. I'll ask it again. (And this is not aimed at you, ... but at the forum). Please stop it with the personal attacks. One can have a rip-roaring take-it-to-the-mat political debate with someone without getting personal, without resorting to childish taunts, and still not have it be bland.
And the best thing that one can do otherwise is to use a little self-enforcement. A Bushie telling a Bushie to knock off the insults is going to probably work better than a Keyester telling a Bushie to knock off the insults, and vice versa.
My flame suits are back on, so everyone have at it again. But please at least think about it. Thanks, AM

Seems to me that he's addressing the the non-disruptors here, who can do something about it: think twice, and don't take the bait.
IOW, I see him preaching to the congregation here, not the choir.
It's kind of sad that there are so many emotional buttons around here for the disruptors--the masterflame-debaters--to mash on. We're talking flame bandwidth here, and that's something that, at least in principle, we grownups could do something about.
A couple of questions:
1)What is a homeowner association type?
2)Are these 'types' posters? Or Admin Moderators?
A homeowners association is when you agree to live in a community where the homeowners form an "association" of homeowners who ultimately dictate what color your house will be, whether you can paint your front door, have a basketball hoop, landscaping, park your car in YOUR driveway or in front of your house...You name it they'll try to control it.
2)Are these 'types' posters? Or Admin Moderators?
At times either one can want to be. Contrary to popular belief, control freaks aren't limited to liberals.
It's only human nature to take sides. This goes on from the oval office to the corporate office, all the way down to the play ground. Human nature. Everyone takes sides, and so do the moderators...
It's a fine line..I say thin skinned people should grow a thicker hide. Roll with the punches or just ignore something you don't like. This is a free country, and a Free Republic web site.
It's my opinion that we don't need a bunch of homeowner association types running around dictating what is correct..
A couple of questions: 1)What is a homeowner association type?
2)Are these 'types' posters? Or Admin Moderators?
#1. This doesn't need to be defined, it's pretty clear.
#2. Both, as many times they are one in the same.
On the other hand, they can run this site anyway they please, it's their site. This is just my opinion.....
You do of course realize that this is based on the assumtion that a person isn't childish.
I don't know what happened to him. He would get back on board and then go nuts again. I guess JR finally banned him for good.
I hope we can each remember to work for the common cause of what bring us all here in the first place, and learn to keep an eye out for those who will try to do their best to make us look bad and tear this place apart.
Remember that one of the three pronged attacks that proponents of Marxism use is the method of turning the people against their government...tell me you don't see people here trying to do that???
We no longer have an issue that rallies us around the flag pole (i.e., the corrupt X42 and his minions) so we need to work desparately to find something, ONE thing that we can all work on and focus on together that KEEPS us together, and recognize and alert others when these so called "disruptors" appear on this site.
So I understand.
You seem to have missed the point.
Disagreements are not remarkable.
People visiting with disagreement as their main goal are the problems.
I usually identify them by their technique: ad hominem and change the subject. Talk about South Africa on a Middle East thread; trot out events of 30 years ago in a discussion of current Mass Murder; Dey the obvious; Make absurd assertions...
Of course, engaging them at all is the mistake. As soon as I suspect, I am happy to leave them talking to themselves.
I hope I'm not ruffling any feathers by suggesting this, but I really do believe we have to be more vigilant about signs that the Bush Administration is slipping to the left. I'll admit my bias here: I don't like Bush. Never have. Nonetheless, out of respect to those who do, I want to say that it's still possible to appreciate the man yet still be prepared to speak out loudly and clearly when he goes astray. Even when liberals are largely out of power, they are not out of influence, and this administration is clearly not immune to them.
Oh I don't know.
Occasionally the only way to clean out the garbage is to get right down ind the middle of it.
If your sensibilities don't allow it, please don't feel obligated.
I remember that graphic. It appeared on the "disruptor's" home page the morning after one somewhat heated Keyes thread. On the thread, the "disruptor" pleaded with everyone a time or two to stop fighting, and finally posted something along the lines of "I can't take it any more".
IIRC, the next morning, the graphic appeared on the home page, and that screen name never posted again.
I can think only of one reason to register multiple accounts: intellectual shortcomings combined with a tendency to fail to engage brain before putting mouth in gear.
Almost anything can be expressed if it is factual and can be shown to be factual.
