Those with long memories will recall that, during the middle of the Clinton impeachment debacle, Democratic pollster Patrick Caddell wondered whether Reno, a fellow Democrat, was the most corrupt attorney general in U.S. history or merely the most incompetent.

In the immortal words of Deion Sanders in his Pizza Hut Commercial, "Both, boss..."

...never seemed to find sufficient cause to name a special prosecutor to investigate various allegations of wrongdoing by Bill and Hillary Clinton and then-vice president Al Gore.

Wait a minute... what was Ken Starr, chopped liver? Reno appointed him. Actually, she appointed Robert Fiske AND Starr -- both Republicans -- to investigate the Clintons.

Also, speaking of corrupt AGs, does anyone remember Edwin Meese? (Or on the Dem side, Bobby Kennedy?)

It does sound like Reno hired some bad apples. But I see nothing in there that actually substantiates the claim that Reno herself was guilty of corruption. Incompetence *cough*Waco*cough*, maybe...

And few AGs ever investigate their own bosses with any seriousness. Ashcroft certainly seems to show no interest in Cheney's ties to Halliburton (which was trading with terrorists as recently as four years ago).

I know we need to be strong and I suppose it's true that there are much greater burdens some of us have to bear but could I ask everyone to please not post any pictures of Janet Reno.

This woman is nature's cure for lust. She is a walking argument for celibacy for either men or women (I'm still not clear on which she favors but I shudder at either visual)and politically she is Donna Shalala without the charm.

It's more than I have a right to ask for but if you all could find it your hearts to accomodate me, please, no more pictures of Janet Reno
