Not sure as to why such hostility to Geraldo tonite. It was a great move on Fox's part to send Geraldo Rivera there, as he is a celebrity in his own right, and everyone has been coming over to him for interviews and to shake his hand. So, Geraldo is getting all the cushy interviews first. Plus, my guess is that a lot of those guys watch FOX and are not CNN fans. Hahahahaha, CNN. You lose.

Because Rick Leventhal was doing a much better job. Sorry, but Geraldo added nothing. These people are the furthest thing from Hollywood, celebrity is NOT appreciated in such a circumstance(though I understand what you were suggesting. Reasonable speculation, but I disagree in this instance). In fact Gov Schweiker was rather visibly put off by Geraldo's questioning in an earlier interview.

Part of the hostility is due to the fact that Geraldo has a history of making himself the story, overshadowing the event that he is covering. Whether he is doing that tonight, I don't know, because I don't have cable.

Geraldo was a horrible shill for Clinton. However, given that I believe his patriotic fervor is about as sincere as he is capable of feeling and he has taken a lot of ribbing from his FOX comrades over the irony of he even being on their network, I tolerate him. My wife does as well.....but we haven't forgiven him exactly. He's flawed seriously but he does generate a certain empathy when he's behaving. He and Levanthal did good on the cuff for hours tonight.
