You said it Don; the same thought has been going through my head also. Anyone who is against nuclear power and the proposed ANWAR borings had better take a long hard look at this and ask themselves whether or not risking the lives of our fellow Americans is worth it.

Anyone who answers yes to this is below contempt, and they should be made to serve just one day in these mines....

That's a good point, but it may not be relevant here. I'm not certain of this, but I believe most of the coal that is mined in the Northeast is not used as fuel for utilities, but as a coking fuel for the steel industry. I can't imagine how oil or nuclear power could be put to such a use.
