To: Miss Marple
Huh?? The governor yes, the President? How? Did something go on such as his giving the military authority to transport men and equipment? Did he waive rules so that government and civilans could work together. Sounds like something more than just expressions of support by the White House. Any details??

No details yet, although one can assume that the presence of the Navy decompression chambers was a direct result of the President's intervention. Also, I believe an EPA rule was waived in order to pump the water our of the mine directly into the nearby creek. I am certain that there were other things done as well, but this is all I have been able to ascertain so far.

By the way, in case you haven't read it, the big drill used to bore down to the miners was manufactured by HALLIBURTON.
