I imagine Hatfill is high enough up the food chain to understand what is really going on, and he's just playing the good soldier.

This is an excellent article, but it nevertheless fails to go to the heart of the matter. Rosenberg and the media are here simply playing the role of the administration's useful idiots, just as Bob Woodward did when he shilled the preposterous rightwing militia theory during an earlier gambit in this long-running stall.

Understand this. Whoever supplied weaponized anthrax to the 9-11 terrorists is the real author of 9-11. The know-how to make that anthrax does not lie within al-Qaeda -- otherwise, we'd all be dead by now. The anthrax came from a sugar daddy, someone who has significant technological wherewithal, someone who occupies a fixed and therefore vulnerable position.

There is, today, nothing the administration can do to respond to the real author of 9-11, because there is no protection against sleepers equipped with "THIS ANTHRAX." "YOU CAN NOT STOP US" -- true, very true. All the administration can do is stall the public on the meaning of the anthrax threats, put a civil defense plan in place, and keep up the rhetorical heat on the real mastermind of 9/11. Which is exactly what is happening, if you're paying attention.
