Suppose Gore was Presdident and Dims controlled both houses, what would be the status of this bill?

This is a great success for pro-lifers. Partial-Birth Abortions aren't called choice, they are called murder!

I suppose it's a good thing I wasn't born dead or I wouldn't have any rights.

Mr. Johnson said that when the bill was initially introduced in 2000, some pro-choice lawmakers fought it. But, he said, "Once they thought through the implications of that they backed away."

Here are your 'implications'........pro-'choicers' fought against a bill that would have prevented a doctor, 'caregiver' from killing an abortion survivor. It's called 'murder' under the old definition.

....and such a thing is a victory? That we needed a bill for such a thing?

Under the bill, the legal definition of "person," "human being," "child" and "individual" under federal laws and federal agency rules would include any human who is born alive

Well, how magnanimous of them.

Partial-Birth Abortions aren't called choice, they are called murder!

This isn't even about partial birth abortion, or whatever sickening term you choose to apply!

This is a bill preventing somebody from murdering an abortion survivor. Read it again!

....and this is praised?........we consider this a victory?

Horse, it sounds like this is an attempt to hold off judicial activism which might someday declare that a baby who has been born but has not yet breathed is not yet a person, or some similar rot.

"Some newborn infants, especially those who are born alive during abortions, have been treated as nonpersons,"

Mr Abortion doctor has been temporarily prevented (legally) from snuffing out a child who survives his 'operation'......and we need a law for this?

It reaffirms how I feel. These people are the greatest threat walking around.

a move that supporters say will prevent the practice of "live-birth" abortions.

You tell me what a 'live birth abortion is'..........:(

I refuse to yield this type of language to them.

It would be nice to think that everyone is sane and that we do not have to consider such things a victory. But in today's society that is just wishful thinking.

Supporters of the bill say it is necessary to prevent so-called "live-birth" abortions, where the doctor induces premature labor and, if the baby is alive after birth, it is allowed to die.

A better bill here would be one that prescribes penalties for this sort of behavior.......are you people crazy?

"This legislation marks an important step in protecting the lives of all newborn infants," House Judiciary Committee Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner Jr., Wisconsin Republican, said after the bill's Senate passage.

Yippee......the liberal pigs in this country forced a vote that had as its locus the question as to whether we need a law to protect newborns......go foist your 'victory' on somebody else.
