LAX shooter an "Arab-Looking" guy...Eyewitness

Posted on 07/04/2002 2:17:49 PM PDT by Burr5

Fox just interviewed a French kid who witnessed the LAX shootings. AMAZINGLY, the reporter farted around for 10 minutes and never asked "What did the guy LOOK LIKE?" Thankfully, the anchor back at the studio prodded him into it, and the kid replied that the shooter was "Afghan-looking" "Arab-looking"...Sorry I'm paraphrasing. But I'll call it official: It's Terrorism.

This shooting was at the ticket counter -- since when do we expect them to search the public BEFORE they get to the ticket counter?

My last airplane trip to Denver included declaring my firearm at the ticket counter before checking the baggage. The public area prior to the metal detectors is not a gun free zone at most airports. I haven't flown since 9-11-2001.

I've known Arab women with hair on the back of their hands, and I've known Arab women with whom I've run my hands through the hair on their backs. Let's not rule those suspects out either. But, as a working rule, never bet against the ex-con living in the trailer park.

Who was the guy being arrested and shoved into the LAPD car as this unfolded, as reported by Mark Brown on KABC?

He looked really p****ed and he sure was breathing, unlike the dead shooter.

. . . SHOT . . . .

. . . . . . . by . . . . .

essentially . . . . . . ISRAELI

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . SECURITY!!!

The tour group I was on to Israel in 1973 was almost machine gunned, grenaded etc. in Athens--all this going off with much mayhem 5 min after we left that waiting area.

They threw the rest of our group's luggage on the TWA plane post haste and we took off FROM THE TERMINAL--no taxi-ing, as I recall. . . anyway--upon arriving in Athens to get cleared for the flight--it was clear Israeli security was much better than anything else. . . landing in Israel, it was even clearer that El Al et al did NOT monkey around nor play games.

They shot the guy in LA, DEAD. As in no more terrorist acts by HIM. The play for keeps. They have to. They have this thing about survival.

Americans just think it's another action movie set, this thing called life.

My late father-in-law used to put it this way:

"If you heard hoofbeats outside the window, would you assume it was a zebra?"

We live in Indiana.

The shooter could have been a Zebra. Shooting up El al. Right. Possible does note equal plausible. Come back and flame away folks if this turns out to be a whacko, postal nut. My money is on terror.

No, they aren't keystone cops... they a just simply lieing to us. They know damn well that this is a terrorist incident. It sickens me that the leaders and police in this democratic republic hold the people in such contempt.

Thanks for a mental picture which will undoubtedly keep me up (and nauseous) most of the night.

An acquired taste, I guess?

What's your gut take on this?

My guess is that this shooter was a disgruntled wack job. The age and M.O. don't indicate terrorism to me. The El Al agent's death is tragic and senseless regardless.

The Padilla thing was way different for one simple reason, he was a citizen. That's the deal killer for me.

I appreciate your kindness to others when you contend that all Arab male non-citizens shouldn't be deported, however you may be a victim of modern softness without even realizing it.

Today we could never level Germany as we did in 1945 (thousands of innocent dead), nor could we drop a bomb on Hiroshima (thousands of innocent dead). We've become hostage to our prosperity and security, we have a 2002 suburbia mentality while they have an 11th century desert mentality.

I'd be happy with a 1945 American mentality that would dictate that there is nothing repulsive about hurting their feelings and sending them back to where they grew up.

No more giant bureaucracies, no more sky falling, no more worrying about where to celebrate our holidays, no more drag on our economy, no more violating citizen's rights, no more extra constitutional power grabs.

No more newcomer Arab males from hostile countries.

I know I'm a hard case J, I don't expect you to agree with me and don't think any less of you if you don't.

Garcia disembling and refusing to identify the suspect. Talk to us tommorow or Monday. Reporter asks about ID as "arab male". Can't get into that either. PUH-LEEEEZE!

The response to this incident today was extremely odd, with Neil Cavuto repeatedly challenging the Israeli Transportation minister who boldly asserted that the LAX incident was a terrorist act. The press conference at LAX was layered in such a way that nothing meaningful will ever be said about this matter, and it will fall between the cracks like everythig else.

I'm not saying there is a coverup going on, but red flags go up when there are multiple press conferences and much self-congratulations going among law enforcement.

I don't know that we can expect terrorists folk to fit profiles at this point. Certainly we ought to be AT LEAST hyper vigilent re those that do fit the profile but not lulled into blindness toward those who don't.

I felt it was terror connected from the beginning. None of the announcements have dissuaded me. Even IF the connection is "ONLY" ideological/sympathizer--THAT'S SUFFICIENT connection for me to throw the terrorist book at whomever had any connection with the dead terrorist at the airport toward supporting his attack.

El Al, after all, is not just any airline in today's world context. LAX, after all, is not just any small town airport. The 4th of July after 11 Sep, is not just any average day. Circumstantial is enough for me to circumsize the remaining cohorts of the gunman at the neck. . . vigorously. And I have a hard time killing animals for food.

I expected it to eventually come out that the guy looked mid-eastern. Glad it did so fast.

In short--YEAH, terror connected. That's enough. Book the lot of them (with any convincing supportive role vis a vis the gunman's actions at El Al) in at the nearest firing range as targets.

THANK YOU!!! They KNOW he's 52 but DON;T know what his RACE is??? One can just assume what that left-out tidbit could mean.

Thanks for that. To all of you. FBI REFUSES to identify the shooter. HOW can you determine he's 52 without a document with his NAME on it? Something stinks here.
