Arafat victim of a deterioration of its mental faculties (press)
Friday June 28, 2002 - 8h06 GMT
ROME, June 28 (AFP) - the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is victim of "une progressive deterioration of his mental faculties ", indicated Friday the Italian weekly magazine Panorama, quoting a report/ratio prepared by foreign experts of the information.
"same calming which formerly tranquillized it and attenuated quiverings of its face, the problems of Yasser Arafat worsen now. Long amnesias, black holes with the improvist, continuous variations of logic ", writes the weekly magazine.
According to Panorama, this report/ratio would be at the base of the decision of the American administration and the president George W Bush to require the setting well off Mr. Arafat and of the search for a new leader for the Palestinians at the time of his recent speech on the situation in the Middle East.
"the conditions of health of Yasser Arafat played a significant role in the frantic diplomatic negotiations which led to the speech of Bush on the need for finding a new leader for the Palestinians", Panorama writing.
According to the weekly magazine, property of the head of the Italian government Silvio Berlusconi, Arafat is prone "to glares of rage so much violent one who his advisers avoid as much as possible the meetings with the journalists to avoid embarrassing scenes".
This deterioration is "a process so alarming and delicate that they are leaders of the Palestinian Authority who announced it, under cover of anonymity", the newspaper continues by evoking this report/ratio, "a true voyage in the spirit of a declining leader".
The first worrying signs of deterioration of the mental health of the Palestinian leader appeared in spring, during the seat of its headquarters with Ramallah by the Israeli army, writes the newspaper, affirming that these concerns would be, at least partially, at the origin of the lifting of the seat.
Two men "now assist the Palestinian leader during meetings, helping it to finish its sentences completed with half and to remember the names and the dates", Panorama continues.
The weekly magazine also affirms that the weapons that the Palestinian leader likes so much and of which it is surrounded, were emptied their chargers "because it is feared that it can be wounded or wound someone else".
Very European phrasing.
Does this mean that he can't lift the toilet seat?
Has he started levitating over his bed yet?
More like "Now that the @ss wipes in the mainstream US press are officially irrelevant,
the US State Dept. is on the do-do list, and Europeans are getting over their constant state of denial,....
What will I do?"
And they're talkig about Arafat's deteriorating faculties? Who the hell wrote this?
Depends............
