This just happened about a Mile East of my house. My wife had to go pick some kids up at the daycare and take them to the elementary school by my house to wait for their parents.

Curious things, which may be explainable; The first reports said the driver was inside the apartments at the time, then later switched to him surviving the explosion and walking away, to walking away from an accident unhurt before it blew up.

It looks like there were no other cars involved, none nearby. She said also that several cars were rteported on fire (CNN) but there were none that she could see.

She said it looks like it was parked there without the tractor, either that or it flipped and rolled. The hole was in the top of the tanker.

Strange. The whole area is now blocked off, so I couldn't get there to see anything. I am relyiong on my wife's report, and here report of video feeds from helicopter.

This happened two hours ago. Eyewitnesses said the trailer detached from the tractor and flipped over.

Trinity Boulevard was shut down just west of Highway 360 as firefighters fought the three-alarm blaze, fueled by 8,500 gallons of gasoline.

About 200 children were safely evacuated from the nearby First Class Academy daycare center as a precaution. They were taken to the playground at South Euless Elementary School.

Residents at Wood Hollow Apartments were also evacuated. Kevin Harris was startled at what he heard around 10:15 a.m. "I was laying in my bed and it just exploded," he said. "I looked up, looked out the window and there was smoke everywhere. Boom! Boom!"

"We heard a big crash and tire screech," said Kaci Wilson. "We ran outside on the balcony and heard people screaming and yelling."

The accident location is less than one mile from the southern perimiter of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Airport emergency vehicles designed to battle jet fuel fires were used to douse the tanker with foam.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. No one was injured.

Thick smoke could be seen rising from the burning truck for miles around.

Trinity Boulevard is the main thoroughfare serving the Citgo gasoline tank farm at the intersection of Trinity and North Collins Drive in Euless. Tankers travel that stretch of Trinity around the clock. This sounds like an accident, albeit a scary one.
