Never could figure out which rocks they were referring to. The base was built on an old chicken ranch and housed an Army Security Agency radio/line intercept unit. ASA merged with Military Intelligence in 1974 and many ASA bases were closed. The Coast Guard used the base after the ASA left. We had medical facilities, PX, Commissary and barracks plus a huge antenna field and highly sophisticated operations building. It was a "fun" site.

I never realized that was formerly an ASA site. We came in late 1974 to Kali, and by the time we found that area, the next year, I believe that the coast guard was there.

Sounds like a great duty place. The NSG had one down in the Big Sur area that was apparently a great duty station.

The best was the site in the Rockefeller Compound in Bar Harbor, Maine.

One of these days when we go to Bodega Bay, on the way back we will stop by the Two Rock monument and try to figure out what two rocks, Two Rock was named after.
