DAMAGE
In a stunning U-turn for the Bush administration, the United States has sent a climate report to the United Nations detailing "specific and far-reaching effects" that it says "global warming will inflict" on the American environment.
MORE
Also for the first time -- the White House places "most of the blame for recent global warming on human actions -- mainly the burning of fossil fuels that send heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere," the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Monday Page Ones, according to publishing sources.
Of course, *some* of us still aren't convinced that there *is* global warming...
A couple of days later, he realized that he'd been had and started trying to slide out of it, claiming he'd always had a caveat. When are you people gonna stop being willingly manipulated by the left-wing media into distrust of our President?
I know he's done somethings none of us like, but why jump to conclusions about some Drudge innuendo. It's like you want to find reasons to be (as Dashle would say) disappointed.
They only want a clone of themselves to run for president; no one else will do.
Of course we can win, we'll just play prevent defense even when we have the ball.
Don't you see?
We must always live in constant terror of what the press will say about us. Never mind the fact they'll say it anyway.
If we act guilty and ashamed of our principles long enough, someone is sure to love us.
I'm not telling where my line is drawn. But you can probably figure it out... ;)
With statements like these:
".one more lurch to the left by the Bush Administration.
I'm getting awfully sick of swallowing all this liberalism and calling it 'conservatism'.
How many times will Bush betray conservatives before we finally get it?
Bush seems to be swinging massively to the left.
Looks like you may have voted for Gore. They called this version 'Bush'.
I will wait for the facts. But if they are as stated, Bush will be merely a differently-spelled Gore.
If Bush does not get rid of these people, he deserves the loss he will experience in 2004.
Politics is a full-contact sport. If Bush is not willing to send in people to make the tackles, he will lose the game.
Bushlips. We merely expect conservatives to act like conservatives, and if they act like liberals, we will call them on it.
That setsus apart from people like you."
Your gonna go the way of Freedomnews, t-shirt, ratcat, Black Jade, and infowars (no current Freeper by that name)
Just to mention a few.
The mob is more implacable than Islamic extremists, it seems. Just because Bush hasn't sealed off the borders, withdrawn from the UN, and vetoed every Dem-sponsored bill sent to his desk, he's a sellout!
As with population control scare scenarios, the science is faulty at best and the proposed fixes are absolutely in conflict with the reality.
But it's important to have the "Crisis" that compels, comrade.
Here's mine...
Mesoscale Global Warming has been occurring for natural causes yet to be determined since the end of the last Ice Age.
The ramification to us, apparently, is the flourishing of human civilization.
Lets hope he didn't cave on the junk science issue. The report may well have already been sent to the UN. It's probably some routine thing that's been filed annually for some years now. Every year they have some mid-level puke at the EPA dust off the old one, change a few numbers, and send it out again. Drudge is making this sound like some big position paper written by Karl Rove or something. I'll bet it's nothing more than Report #15027 out of 57,319 reports filed by the federal government last month. Nobody reads these things, or pays any attention to them. This is just the New York Times yanking Bush's chain. Bush needs to get tougher about the bureaucrats who set him up for these hits. |
If you were to ask me, I'd offer the following simple equation:
Amelia, whether human activity is increasing global warming is not a matter of conservative ideology. We can make sure that the science that explores and determines that is not junk science driven by brainwashed idiots, but the answer is not ideological in any other sense.
The question is as FreeTheHostages has stated, If human activity has increased global warming, what is the most practical approach to this situation? Practicality within a framework of human freedom is the approach I would vote for.
I think it would be a big mistake to make this a conservative touchstone issue, like abortion is.
Thousands of scientist have signed a petition saying global warming is a farce. Even the ex-head of Greenpeace says they're liers!
Bush is doing it for more votes and higher poll numbers and screw his base, or the othe countries are backing out on his war on terror and they're forcing him.
If it's for votes, he's a gonner.
If it's because the other nations will not help us win the war without it, his hands may be tied.
Either way, global warming is left wing voo doo science! Liberal ca ca designed for socialist land grabbing. The earth goes through cycles. That's just the way it's always been.
