If Muslim arabs consider Jeruselum the third holiest site in their religion I suggest they agree to a trade for the third holiest site in Judaism.... Nieman Marcus. The arabs like to blow all that oil money on american consumer goods and the Jews can always switch to Sacks Fifth Avenue. God bless Capitalism... and Shalom!

God forewarned the Israelites through Moses that their nation would twice be destroyed for failing to obey Him. The second destruction would be far more severe than the first the people would be scattered throughout every nation under heaven. They would be persecuted and have no assurance of life. This was literally fulfilled, beginning with the Roman destruction of Israel and Jerusalem in A.D. 70 (Deuteronomy 28:64-68 and Luke 21:20-24). Was this the first or the second destruction?

How long do you expect it will be before we start the DNA tests - the outcome of which will determine the "sorting process"?

Perhaps an article by Hal Lindsey on "Who Owns the Holy Land", per Hal's interpretation of the Bible, would be a more comfortable fit in the Religion forum.
To: GovernmentShrinker
Well, you may see it that way, but current news events would certainly have more to do with this article.

The only sorting process I'm concerned with is God's.

Second (1st was at the hand of the Babylonians, c. 586 BC. See Jer chapter 39; Jer 29:10; Dan 9:2).

. . . per Hal's interpretation of the Bible, . . .LOL!
I tend to agree with you . . . except . . . these kinds of "arguments" are being seriously advanced today as justifiucation for the upcoming "solution".

This has created unique problems for the world. Never before has a people been scattered for almost 2,000 years, remained virtually a nation in exile, returned to claim their ancient homeland and then been reborn as a nationWouldn't you think that this would be a big, huge red flag for those (predominantly Roman Catholic) who believe in "Replacement Theology"? (The view that the Church has REPLACED Israel in God's eyes, that Israel somehow "forfeited" God's Covenants to them because they rejected their Messiah).
Who but God could have overcome trillion-to-one odds to engineer the rebirth of Israel? How can one overlook the absolute uniqueness of Israel's re-emergence among all the dead and forgotten civilizations in the history of Earth? How can one say that it's just a coincidence that this happened to, of all people, the very Nation who gave us The Bible and Jesus Christ???
And yet, many still argue that Israel's re-birth was just the work of a few puny mortal men in drab suits at the U.N., and that it has no spiritual signifigance at all. That belief is very hard for me to figure out.

The only sorting process I'm concerned with is God's. I see. God will tell Arik which are seed of Isaac and which are the seed of Ishmael?
Do you suppose that some will INSIST on a second opinion via lab confirmation?

Not at all...God knows His own and His own know Him ethnicity has nothing to do with it... If you're inferring that man-made government will do this, I would say yes that's possible...evil knows no bounds.

Anyone who believes in the rule of law can feel comfortable supporting Israel in this conflict. Citing religous doctrine starts to get a little dicey, in my opinion. Because one must subrogate the other party's position(opponent's religion) in order to justify that thier claim or title is superior.

I agree with you. Just wanted to add that this is a miracle
we witness, but this miracle was performed more than once, and was witnessed by our forefathers.
When Jews were exiled from their land, I am sure that many contemporaries thought that, "This is the end of them." When they were enslaved en masse, converted, and killed in Spain, in the VII century, the contemporaries thought that that certainly had to be the end. But, miraculously, despite the decimation, as a people the Jews survived. The expulsion from Spain in 1492 was tragic, the centuries of Inquisition and auto-da-fe --- all of these colossal losses were about to bring an end to the Jewish people. The Holocaust tragedy seamed final, too, as well as the attack on Israel by five Arab nations on the first day of its existence. Yet at all these turns, no matter how close the peril seamed to be, miraculously, the Jewish people survived.
I have faith in the future.
