Wow, Clinton appointees resigning to make some bucks off some lawsuits. What a shock.

bump

Centralizing power in order to right wrongs, or in this case "save the environment" is a two edged sword. It creates a honey pot of power that attracts the big players. Eventually, when enough money is on the table, the chances that the burearacrats will act in the public interest, as opposed to the interests of the powerful, approach zero.

We are now exploring the tail of that curve.

When Clintoon was president, I used to blame such sh*t on him. That was a mistake. Though I am sure he and Hillary did more than their share, our federal bureacracy has grown larger by far than any one person. The destruction of our republic, just in my lifetime, is disgusting.

This is ridiculous. If we had gotten some drenching rains for a few days a lot of the particles in the air would have been washed down to the ground. Other than bringing in a big fan and blowing the air out to sea,(utterly ludicrous) just what did people think would happen to the air.

Did they want to evacuate many many city blocks........then what? Did they want to seal up the entire area and make it no man's land. Just leave the bodies where they fell?

So easy to blame the government......oh, they should have taken away the bad air and brought in new clean air!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If people want to get mad, let them get mad at the animals who perpetrated this crime and stop whining about how they are treated on Gitmo, how wrong we are to retaliate, etc. etc.

BLAME THE GUILTY, NOT THE VICTIMS.

I don't think there is any suprise that there was some seriously nasty stuff burning at the WTC site, or that rescue workers breathed it in. IT'c common knowledge in NYC in the construction trade that the cleanup workers will have shortened lifespans.

But why on earth would the EPA purposely hide dangerous findings. What a load of crap.

Just another way for liberal lawyers to blame government for everything, then sue NYC, the state, the USA, and anyone else in site (except of course, those who caused the problem). After all, these do have bill to pay and must keep their income up.

Let's have some compassion for the poor lawyers.

Can this be removed from breaking news?

1. It isn't.

2. The source is lycos' "environmental news".

6. Visit the website of the New York Environmental Law and Justice Project. They want the area to be declared a Superfund site. See their activities at: http://www.nyenvirolaw.org/WTC/WTC-index.htm

Hmmm. NY Environmental Law and Justice Project -- Groups with names like this are just fronts for lawyers that are circling the site like sharks and waiting for a chance to get fat. And the enviro-nazis are chuming the water for them by throwing out this as bait. If Fat Jerry Nadler kicks the bucket anytime soon, they'll point out that it was because this was his district and he himself was exposed. However, more than likely it was too many fat pills (donuts) and heart-busters from the House kitchen.

I think it's common sense that the air at Ground Zero in the immediate days after 9/11 would be, let's say, different. But if the accounts I read on here are true, the fact that rescue workers choose not to wear their masks shows where blame should also be laid.

And I don't believe the EPA "covered" this up. I read all about the potential air hazards around Ground Zero shortly after 9/11.

9. Read a critique of the EPA studies by "Worker's World" at: http://www.workers.org/ww/2002/pollute0307.php
Even using these nuts as a source speaks ill of the author's credibility. I don't think that anyone thought for one second that the dusty air in the vicinity of the WTC was healthy. As another poster said, sounds like the lawyers are trying to cash in.

To me it is a no-brainer that the collapse of two flaming 100-story skyscrapers will release toxic gases and particulates into the air over a period of many hours, days, or even weeks. For this reason I criticize both the EPA, which supposedly claimed there was no such hazard, and those who needed the EPA to warn them of the hazard.
