It's not just an inferior operating system. (Try using a program written under OS9x or earlier when you've upgraded your computer to OSX. To use the older program, you have to have BOTH operating systems at once! When you start the older program, OS9 has to start up. Guess how much of your resources are being used when you are running TWO operating systems!) Mac products are WAY more expensive, and there are WAY fewer applications available. (So far, that applies even to Linux and the alternative operating systems, right?) Also, Mac monitors are ALL going LCD, aren't they? Expensive, and imagine what happens to your display when your kid, someone else's kid, or some accident pokes a hole in your screen. (It happens-- schools face that problem.)

When a part on your MacIntosh goes bad, you might as well plan on sending it to the Mac-man. My son can replace any part on my PC himself. We don't have to pay a serviceman. I don't have to be without my computer for more tha

I've worked for 8 years now with a PC at home and Macs at work (desktop, laptop, IMac, etc.). There is NOTHING to match a Mac freeze-up-- nothing. I have never lost all of my work on when I had a PC freeze. I have to use all my fingers and toes to tell you about the co-workers and students who have lost everything during a Mac freeze-up. Since I loaded XP on my computer in December, I haven't had a single freeze-up. You want to switch to a Mac? Sayonara.

Oops! That should read "any more than a day." (That was the longest reply I've ever made at FR.)

Thank you. I have WindowsXP and love it.
And obviously the public loves Microsoft enough to make Bill Gates the richest man in the world.
I admire him for being a genuine example of the American dream come true.
