Today is the 32nd anniversary of the first "Earth Day," founded by former U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, who modeled his anti-capitalist protests after anti-Vietnam War demonstrations of that era.
Today, the so-called "environmentalist movement" has evolved (devolved some might say) from a gaggle of adolescent peaceniks into a slick cadre of lobbyists and lawyers, who are responsible in large measure for the enormous hidden tax on American products and services -- the cost of regulation ($843 billion in 2000). The populist wing of environmentalism now operates under the aegis of Albert Gore's cult of Latter Day Eco-theologists (earth-worshipers).
For a reality check on this 24-hour tribute to environmental absurdity and its relentless 24-7 assault on free enterprise, the National Center for Public Policy Research hosts a site (compliments of Algore's Internet) for your reading pleasure. Visit -- National Center.org Earth Day

Important post bump.
Locally in Cary, NC, there are millions set aside to purchase "open space" land but our roads are going to hell in a handbasket. The Cary City Council is owned and operated by the Sierra Club and assorted lefty, liberal, envirocommie groups.
A mass transit plan is now being worked out for a train for our area that studies show very few would ride - but that doesn't stop the taxpayer boondoggle that is in the works. The local bus transit plan that taxpayers paid for to bus the senior citizens around (if they call in advance) - is doing so poorly they gotta open it up to all Cary Citizens - also so that they can get mega Fed money which the neighbor city Raleigh is getting because their mass transit system (bus) is open to the general public. So our local commie mayor Lang said: Well, let's change the "senior citizens" bus system we got local taxpayers to fund - to a system open to all the public so we can get these funds!!!!
Neat, huh?
2 different subjects but same underlying theme.

Rush said Pres. Bush's Earth Day speech is being halted right now due to a BLIZZARD, speech about global warming. Looks like Global Blizzarding to me!

The urban sprawl in North Carolina would make mass transit rail lines a complete failure.

But if you look at the Commies who started Earth Day (I was in college when they had the first one) and the Socialists who now promote it, I believe it is a Commie celebration and has nothing to do with Jack Nicholson! eheheh

Well, I don't think it has to do with Jack Nicholson either. I'm betting that the founders of earth day were actually closet monarchists and they're celebrating the birthday of Isabella I, queen of Castile.

Nor do I think this is a coincidence. Remembrance days are important and they're usually used for a purpose. Are you aware of how much James Carville looks like Lenin? I did a web search about a year ago to determine if there could be any connection, but found no obvious ones. Lenin had no (legitimate) children, although he had lots of nieces and nephews. Carville is an old name in his neck of the woods, but I do not know anything about his mother's heritage. Lenin came from Tartar stock.

The populist wing of environmentalism now operates under the aegis of Albert Gore's cult of Latter Day Eco-theologists (earth-worshipers).
Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools...Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
