Operation Infinite FReep, Fresno Support our Troops Rally 3-29-02

There were twenty Patriots and FReepers at tonight's (or should I say last night's?) "Support Our Troops Rally" in Fresno, California. I would estimate that there were an equal number of peaceniks across the street from us. I am not sure how warm it was during the rally tonight, but it was a very spring-like eighty-two degrees here today!

The response that we got from those driving by tonight was just unbelievable at times! It's such fun FReeping when you have eighty percent or more of the population on our side of the issue. The peaceniks stayed on their side of the street tonight so there weren't any confrontations. However, after the other side had punched their time cards at precisely 6:30 ( I swear they pay these people to stand out there each week!), two police officers approached our group and asked us if we would leave FReeper Island and congretate on the street corner. He said that they had gotten a call from someone who had driven by, concerned about our safety and well being. We wondered if it were one of the peaceniks who was so "concerned" about our welfare. Once we retreated to the corner like we were asked, the number of people driving through the intersection that spotted us was greatly reduced. **sigh** Oh well.

After the FReep, almost all of us went to dinner at Di Ciccios (sp?) and had a wonderful time! Those FReepers who were able to attend tonight were:

The click on "Subscribe to this topic" which you should see down in the left hand column. I just love you all!! One surgery coming up on Thursday morning (prayers welcome!), recovery, and another probably sometime this fall, more recovery, and then watch out! I'm checking on flights! You may meet both Bob and me, if Bob can find someone to care for his mother, or it may be just me, but I'm "goin' West," as they say! I've never been west of Iowa (pitiful, huh?), and it's high time I changed that! (I have friends in Albuquerque too, so I may double the fun, as long as I'm in the neighborhood! *VBG*)

I tried teasing the policeman who told us to come off the island by asking him if I could take a picture to show everyone who ran us off our island and he just answered 'No!' If he had said yes, I would have had to call you, my image card was full. Oh well, we didn't offer him any cookies either.
