With that line of thinking, you might as well just surrender the country to socialism right now. The Republicans are dooming themselves if they decide to write off entire chunks of the country as you appear willing to do. The Democrats don't give up as easily. They go into Republican strongholds all the time and give it their best shot. Sometimes they even win which is why we now have Democrats elected in such conservative bastions as Oklahoma, Texas and Nevada. In fact, both North and South Dakota voted for Bush/Cheney in 2000 and generally vote Republican in all presidential elections, but ALL FOUR senators from those two states are Democrats. Why? Because the Democrats don't have the "give up and surrender" mentality that the Republicans have thanks to folks like you.

Yes, RATS have right tactics go after national offices, it has nothing in common with Romney trying to win govrneship here. I would applaud if he will make another shot at Kennedy or run for House seat, running for governor in Mass does not make any sense in my view.
