I know of 2 threads currently running on how to best unconditionally submit to the cops. If you consider yourself a freedom-loving American, of course.

If, for example, you think the U.S. Government should abide by the Constitution even during wartime, you are anti-American. If you think the government should at least declare war before waging it, you are anti-American.

What! The government abide by the Constitution?!! They don't need no stinkin' constitution.

Maybe Sobran should actually read the Constitution. In it, he may notice that as Commander-in-Chief, the president has considerable latitude in military and foreign affairs. He does have a point about declaring war, but only when there is a nation-state against whom we can declare war.

If Mr. Sobran would like to see what a rigid adherence to constitutionally limited powers can achieve in wartime, he should look to 17th century Poland, and the subsequent annihilation thereof.

If you deprecate a war that hurts and kills innocent people without achieving its stated goals, you are anti-American.

That's where he loses me. That is the bogus charge every contrarian throws out. Civilians are killed in every war. But I hardly think that is a concern of people who flew airliners into buildings. In effect, they are holding their own people ransom knowing idiots like Sobran are more than willing to write the ransom note to demonstrate their moral superiority.

We have been attacked, and now we have to get our hands dirty making sure the people who did it don't do it again. Pointing out the dirt is not helpful or productive, and puts Sobran on the wrong side of this one.

I just skimmed the beginning but this sounds like another leftist antiamerican rant. He lost me when he started whining about civilian casualties in war. What a complete moron, are we expected to sit back and let thousands of our people die because we might hurt a dozen innocent people going after the culprits?

Puhhleeze.
