I am sure my representative, Mae Beavers, will do the right thing. However, I am equally sure that my Senator, Bob Rochelle, will do as much damage as possible to screw us over.

Another example of money-hungry gov't trying to balance its budget on the backs of smokers.
Here in BC, our provincial gov't just raised the tax on smokes to the point that a 20 pack is over $5.35 when bought in cartons. At the local convenience store, it's $7.00 or more!

I wonder what Lamar Alexander has to say about this. I'm sure those FREEPERs who've been claiming he's not a RINO will be able to point to his leadership in opposing any increase in state taxes. Surely a natural born leader like Lamar has been involved in this effort in a big, big way. Not living in Tennessee, and never having been a big fan of Alexander's, I haven't been keeping track of whatever it is he's been doing.

Gee, "Queen" Kurita wants to Tax a TN product, grown by TN farmers! Perhaps she should realize the teen smoking rate is high due to the fact that alot of parents in TN grow tobacco. If you see it in the field outside your house, how can it be a bad thing to smoke? After all, Dad grows it! She'd tax a product used by kids and poor folks, not to mention the elderly who still smoke? Gee, let's just legislate(tax) away what she considers bad behavior!
Watch out folks, next as a legislature nurse she'll get the idea to tax fast foods, chips, and ho ho's!
