A simple one-page resolution expressing the Senate's support for U.S. military forces in Afghanistan was on hold yesterday while Democrats wrestled with its language.

"The Senate stands united with the president in the ongoing effort to destroy Al Qaeda," states a draft of the resolution that Democrats were seeking to change.

The economy is still sinking, we've been invaded by Mexico, over 3/4 of the 'laws' on the books are unConstitutional and these a-holes are spending time on something that should be a GIVEN??

What a waste of skin these jerks are!

The Senate is missing a grand opportunity to have Orrin Hatch write the resolution. He writes songs, he could write the resolution in poetic style and have it set to some purty music...

And Liebermann says we can trust the Democrats to support the war.

Yeah right, Joe.

Exactly. Supporting the boys is a no brainer. The only thing that's serious (for the Democrats) is that they don't want to corner themselves, just in case they need to demagogue the war effort for November.

Lott and the GOP should be body slamming Daschle and Leahy over this.

"We want to make sure they know that they're in our thoughts and that we strongly support their efforts," said Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle

Why doesnt he just shut up then...this is ridiculous...you mean our government needs to pass a resolution to state that it is behind it self? What a joke.

Exactly how many terrorists is this Senate resolution supposed to kill? We've got soldiers fighting and dieing, and Dashole's answer is a resolution that they can sign in front of the network cameras?!

Tommy: The point here is not your own selfish desire to save your political hide. The point here is to KILL the bad guys. Does that scare you 'ya little commie prick?! If so, you're too much a wussy to stay in this job.

I have an idea. Let's have the Republicans write their resolution, and the Democrats write their own. They can each be published separately. That would be a hoot!

Can you imagine what the Demo's would look like? And how people would respond to it?

I can't help but wonder how much more treasonous, traitorous behaviour, you in rest of the country are going to take, from the communist pond scum we in the North East corner of the country send to congress, before you just get fed up and toss us out of the Union.

We send the likes of jeffords, lahey, clinton, snowe, collins, kennedy and kerry and you act like we are part of a freedom loving society.

Ouch! Good one. ME TOO! I would love to know exactly, and I mean, exactly what WORDING they did not like!!!! My gosh....if we were privy to this, I am SURE we would not need any more fodder for this election cycle. Don't they just make you SICK....every single democrat simply reeks of 'clintonista-stink'.

Midway through this article I scrolled back up to see who was the talented satirst who authored this hilarious piece only to be left wondering if this is a bona fide "news" article. How about those Democrats. Don't they just take your breath away.

Why bother? Their last statement of support only lasted a couple of months. These people have no idea how to keep their word.

Statements of support are quickly replaced with political expediancy. They would willingly sacrifice any/or all of us in order to maintain power. Daschle has probably already bought his wife a burqa....just in case.
