The current round of CFR "reform" was spawned by the demoncraps" "Chinese CFR Reform" of 1996. When the news got out they started calling for "reform". The press cooperated fully, picked up on it and proceeded to lie to the public to help the demoncraps. Remember???

How would it work? Easy. All donations would have to be made anonymously and in cash. Every politician or political cause would have to have a CPA firm set up like a blind trust to receive its donations. Then youd find out what politician is actually supported by people (and groups, and corporations). And which ones are crooks, stumblebums, and charlatans.Fascinating.

Let us be frank. Without John McCain there would be no CFreform. And why McCain? Because he is corrupt. He is like the serial killer who screams out "stop me before I kill again." In McCain's case it is "stop me before I succumb to corruption again."

He is on the road to death, and he aims to take as many of us with him as he can.

I admit my proposal needs to be refined. But the main point is that we are faced with a wholly corrupt system. And no one is really addressing it.

The difficulty of organizations that want to take political positions is very tough.
Full and prompt public disclosure of donors is a minimal step.
But how about the "hidden agenda" groups? How can they be required to be honest?

Let everyone give however much they want to whoever they want. With one proviso(sp) immediate notification(say within 24 hrs).
A large part of the problem is our system was set up for an informed electorate. And sad to say that is not the case today. I would hazard a guess that most voters don't ever know that this bill passed the house last week.

You can't legislate morality. The system is corrupt because politicians are corrupt. Silencing special interests (the voters) is not going to make politicians honest. Honest politics is an oxymoron.

I just don't care if they have a hidden agenda or not. You fight bad speech with good speech. You don't criminalize it.

CRIMINALS are never stopped by LAWS.

Exactly! You only stop honest people. Besides, the way the legislation reads you can still give the "ice tea" defense. Only Republican's will be held accountable.
