It's not cruel. They claimed they were asleep when the abduction took place. The father noticed the intruder warning on the alarm system but paid no attention, apparently occupied. The allegations are, and they're not denying, that they were instead in their locked garage, smoking pot, engaged in "wife-swapping" behavior at the time of the alleged abduction.

Yes, the mother and the "suspect" neighbor were at the same bar/club that evening and reportedly danced together. There's an allegation that she "entertained" in the parking lot before returning home and that he had offered to host one of their adult parties at his home. There's another allegation that police took large amounts of child pornography from his residence.

What is the likelihood that the little girl would be missing if her parents weren't into "swinging" or some other "alternate life style"? What is the likelihood that the little girl would be missing if her parents had spent the evening at home and tucked her in? It's not a matter of "sexual habits", it's a matter of parental responsibility.

You've got a point, but there's a conflict between some of these lifestyles and raising a family. They bring you into contact with a lot more unsavory characters than you would bump into elsewhere. You could say that "swinging" is one's own business, but it will involve association with a lot more bad people than you'd meet in church. There's nothing inherently wrong with nudism, but nudist camps and beaches have got a lot more perverts than golf courses do. Smoking marijuana at home might not do much harm to anyone else, but a group of a thousand pot smokers will commit more crime than a thousand yacht club members.

Agreed, as of this moment all we have is a talk show host throwing allegations around from "unnamed" sources about their sexual activities. Let alone anything regarding how this may or may not relate to their missing child.

I will hold judgement on their parental ability until something far more than talk show and internet allegations occur. If it turns out they are involved in a lifestyle and that lifestyle directly contributed to their childs disappearance I will condemn them. For now though, I'll wait and see.

Well, it appears that their sexual habits may have been contributory to what happened to the child. This is another example of how our society has been corrupted by the liberals. "It's only about sex" is just as not applicable here as with X42's fiascos. It all about our society and its moral structure. There are consequences for ignoring the rules. The reason they have become rules is because the consequences of certain actions have been observed over a couple of thousand years and people say "oh, that type of behaviour brings bad consequences, let's make a rule that people don't do that". These days though, we "question authority" without researching where that authority developed its rules from.
