Another indication of a possible run for governor by Republican Haley Barbour comes from an interesting web site registration by the John Grotta Company.
They have reserved barbour2003.com for possible development.
The John Grotta Comapny is a political and direct marketing organization based in Washington D.C. with clients ranging from Senator Trent Lott to Governor Mike Foster of Louisiana to Mayor Rudy Guiliani to Senator Bob Dole's 1996 Presidential Primary to the Mississipp Republican Party.
Other clients have included the National Republican Party, the Republican Congressional Campaign and Senatorial Campaign Committees, and dozens of other congressional, senatorial, gubernatorial and state campaigns and committees.
However, barbour2003.com is still under construction.

Barbour is just as bad. He masterminded the Barbour/Matalin 92 Bush Strategy of don't believe in anything, have your consultants become celebrities themselves and hit the talk show circuit about yourselves rather than putting the candidates forward, and otherwise eschew all principles for the sake of the beltway cocktail-party set conventional wisdom.

How about running for Senate in Virginia?

I wish he would run for Senate too.

The snide remark is a superior debating tactic to the expression of opinion. Good job.

Haley did run for the Senate -- 20 years ago. He lost badly to entrenched Democrat icon, John Cornelius Stennis. He has not sought office again. It will be tough for any Republican to win the MS governorship -- only one has ever done so, twice, and he was a total failure in the long run.

I think he would be better served running back east.

Stennis opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Nevertheless, he swept the black precincts in 1982 against Barbour. This was the same election in which neighboring AR resurrected "its bill," bILLclinton.

You'd think being the most powerful GOP lobbyist in Washington would be enough for some people. He'll only run for Gov. if he's really convinced he can win. Especially since, as you point out, in his only previous run for office he was beaten like a red-headed stepchild.
There are also rumors that Thad Cochran is tired of playing second fiddle to the junior senator and might test the Gov. waters.

These have to be about the most misguided or ignorant posts I have ever seen on this website. What turnip truck to you boys fall off of? Learn your history. Barbour, along with Newt Gingrich, were the most important masterminds of the 1994 conservative take-over of congress and subsequent impeachment of Bill Clinton. But you guys are so blinded by your hate for success I doubt you can appreciate that fact.

You have all the logic of a blind squirrel. Perhaps you haven't yet got to the chapter of divided government. Gingrich didn't have control of the veto pen. Your hero Clinton did. Appreciate what Newt did and stop hating his success.

It's not snide, it's correct.
Before you debate you need to get some perspective by reading more on the subject.
