Elenchus,

Maybe you could do with a bit of perspective brightening. I'll give it my best shot:

First of all, not all universities are evil empires of the Left, nor are all academics evil Leftists, which surely you must know.

Secondly, when one establishes an endowment, one designates in a formal document, the purposes for which the endowment MUST be used - I work in this area and know full well that these are solemn documents which stand the test of time and liberals.

Thirdly, the endowment was established with the approval of her family and by her friends as a way to honor Barbara at the school through which she entered her chosen profession, the law.

Lastly, I am encouraged that we who donate to this fund are part of creating a living legacy and are supporting students who will go on to be the EXACT kind of lawyer that Barbara and Ted Olson have been.

Ted Olson's recent address to the Federalist Society , which can be found at their website, speaks directly to Barbara's love of the law, her choice to attend Cardozo, and why the scholarship fund was established. It is a truly moving speech which all those who loved Barbara should read.

Elenchus, Barbara Olson did not run from difficult choices, difficult people, nor from controversial stands that put her in the crosshairs of the powerful media elite. We must not run from the fight either, and I believe you feel that way, too. Hence our need to take it to the Left directly where they live - in our academic institutions, in our corporations, in our media, in our neighborhoods. This memorial scholarship fund is simply one powerful way of doing so.

Best regards!

Endeavor

To be fair to NBC (boy does this hurt) couldn't her absence be explained by the fact that she was a contributor on a competitor?

Stay well. It would be like John Lot not morning the death of Bernard Goldberg or vice versa. Just because the parasitical elite news media is diametrically opposite of value producing Lott and Goldberg (both compete for the readers attention) doesn't exclude them from fundamental integrity, no matter how hard they try to prove otherwise.

........the behavior of former Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Crowe.........whether he sold out his country for stock in the Arab-owned corporations which control US anthrax stockpiles............letting Arab investors gain control of America's principle source of the deadliest forms of anthrax as well as the anthrax virus--and US citizenship for the Arab corporate chieftan..........Clinton's appointment of Admiral Crowe as Ambassador to Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

We are a nation desperately in need of heroes. Now we have a few--and we must celebrate them and publicize every one of them. We must not permit the left to consign them to oblivion. We must raise them up.

You are so right. If it was Gloria Steinem instead of Barbara Olson on that plane, can you imagine what the coverage would be? There would be no end to the liberal fawning worship of the feminist goddess. She would be posthumously honored in all the women's magazines, guaranteed.

Only liberals can be heroes in the Land of Ought-to-Be.

Well, NBC Nightly News didn’t show a retrospective of people who died, but they did wind up their newscast with a retrospective of Sept. 11th. They even included Mike Moran, saying “and you can kiss my white, Irish . . . “ They also included some nice clips of President Bush.

Larry King (I know, I know) mentioned her last night. Had a few nice pics, talked about her and even had clips of an interview with Ted Olson post 9/11.

Phil,

Plesae read the "Charles Schultz" quiz in post 20. This is so good that I think you will want to use it on the air. You can shorten it but still get the point across by using less of the items in each list -- perhaps four of each.

This, like "Peanuts" itself, is simple, basic and touching. I'm certain you will like it.

I agree with whoever said the pics were by time frame on FOX.

More importantly,.. Solicitor General Ted Olsen and his wife Barbara would NOT have wanted her life to be valued above anyone elses. They are/were a class act.

I imagine all those families who lost loved ones would resent her being elevated above their lost loved ones.

President Bush isn't the type to try to be in the forefront and is well known to want credit to go to others. I have a sneaking suspicion that Barbara Olsen and her wonderful husband Ted are the same way.

I could tell that those on FOX were deeply disturbed by the loss of Barbara. They DID show her face repeatedly in the beginning.

It isn't disrespectful to her.. or demeaning to her that she isn't in the forefront. She wasn't like that. Probably why we will mourn her forever..and remember her forever. I have saved SC Ted Olsens response to us here...and will keep it forever.

Ted if your reading this.. remember the "smile". Her beauty and grace, I know we will. Along with her heart, her genious and mind.

God Bless you through the holidays. We have honestly thought of you during this time. Our hearts go out to you...

Let me see if I can ease your pain a little.

To be fair to NBC (boy does this hurt) couldn't her absence be explained by the fact that she was a contributor on a competitor?

I have seen, repeatedly on FOX News, a reminder of those who lost their lives in this past year. Barbara Olson has been shown every time. She was a contibutor on a competitive station for them also. They showed her anyway.

What visual obituary is the writer referring to? Only thing I've seen has been on a program about celebs and they didn't even include Jack Lemon. Do you know which programs specifically included and excluded Ms. Olson?

Here is another reason to be encouraged -- the same friends and family who are responsible for setting up the scholarship fund will have the final say as to its recipients. After that, their children (or personally designated spokespersons). Then their children, etc, etc, etc.

The scholarship is in safe hands.

God bless.

Your Right!

I just finished "Hell To Pay"

great book. And my wife just bought me " The Final Days". Can't wait to read it! If the money from the books is going to Ted, I can't think of a better person to give it to!

BARBARA OLSON, CONSERVATIVE HERO IN BATTLE AGAINST ISLAMIC TERROR AND CLINTON CRIMES, IGNORED ON NBC

Not only is she the most prominent, but she is also the wife of one of the top U.S. government officials, the attorney who represented candidate George Bush in the contested Florida election before the Supreme Court, and above all a stalwart, perfectly relentless fighter against the corruption of the government by the Clinton's, who left her husband at home on the day of the fateful flight to once again do battle in an out-of-town television interview on ABC's Politically Incorrect show, presumably in order to advance the thesis of her about to be released book, The Final Days (how ironic the name), which was the follow-up to her first Clinton book, Hell to Pay (more irony since there has been a lot of hell to pay from the Clinton treacheries--and it will not only be the Islamic maniacs, who were enabled to do what they did on September 11, 2001 by the Clinton perfidies, who will someday have hell to pay). Whatever one's politics, one has to acknowledge that hers is arguably the most significant death of the year, what with her dying directly at the hands of the terrorists and indirectly at the hands of the Clintons.

Barbara was and remains, through her writings and through those of us who loved and so appreciated her, a person of consequence in her own right and should be mentioned as such in a "prominent American" lost life retrospective.

I do not disagree.....but I do not expect the mainstream to give her much life and tragic death much airtime. She is the antithesis of the junior senator from New York. The queen (of NY) would not be amused.

Barbara Olson's death is still painful for me. I did not know her, but man-o-man I respected her. I watched the Larry King Tribute to her....many boo-hoo's at the end.

I wouldn't sweat it. You didn't actually expect these liberal shills to remember a conservative icon that almost helped pull down their favorite anti-constitution president, did you?

On the other hand, they'll d@mn near have an aneurism over the prospect of Hillary being in danger when one of her body guards is run over. Everybody remember the headline the NYT ran? They didn't give a d@mn about the person actually hit by the vehicle. They only cared about Her Witchness.

The RNC should have Fox News devote a special show just to her memory.

The RNC has no control over what FoxNews broadcasts. I'm sure your little post confirms in the mind of any lurking liberal that FoxNews, is in fact, an organ/extension of the Republican Party. Nice going, Einstein.
