Face it, plenty of 15 years olds have been set up for sexual encounters by friends and the vast majority don't ask Mom and Dad's permission to get busy.

It'd be interesting to know the ages and occupations of the "friends". The article said he didn't have friends in high school because of his chronic illness. 15 year old friends would likely bring in the class whore not purchase a prostitute. If the friends are adults who interfered in a family they are completely in the wrong. I wouldn't think it was my right to give your 15 year old candy or the keys to my car even if I didn't think those were wrong but you did.

Thing is that I kinda agree but not fully. I don't know if you're familiar with the concept of "hidden law" but I think this entire episode probably is best understood by that concept, i.e. a kind of semiconscious hypocracy in which we acknowledge that it's not right to intefere in family decisions but we'll look the other way given the circumstances.
